The LAD C&E Shared Services Centre (the “SSC”) is a compliance support unit within Oracle’s LAD region Legal and Compliance group and the SSC is part of Oracle’s Global Compliance team comprised of Compliance professionals and lawyers from around the world.

We are responsible for implementing Oracle’s Compliance and Ethics Program throughout the LAD region and achieving program objectives. For the LAD C&E SSC, we want members with integrity and commitment to the highest ethical standards and personal values to join our team. To be successful in this role, you should have the ability to multi task and work independently and also be able to provide solutions and operate as a teammate.

About your new role:

Oracle is seeking dynamic and motivated Compliance personnel to support Oracle Compliance operations within the LAD C&E SSC. Your role will be to use analytical skills to undertake transactional due diligence (“TDD”) of important supply contracts and commercial dealings between Oracle, it’s customers and our distribution partners. You will have the opportunity to work closely with order management teams and as required undertake forensic examination of commercial dealings. In addition, you will be able to use your knowledge and skills to provide guidance on compliance with Oracle’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws.

You will be expected to demonstrate skills and expertise in dealing with novel, sophisticated and exciting issues across the region and possess the ability to find solutions through a problem-solving approach based on business integrity. We are looking for someone who can think and work independently in a team environment, prioritize large volumes of work in a self-service environment, and successfully ensure compliance and handle risk.

You will work closely with and report to the team’s LAD Senior Compliance Officer who will provide guidance, mentorship and strategic direction.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Counseling and supporting LAD Legal and Compliance colleagues, Sales and other business partners on matters related to – commercial contracts, compliance, Customer focus and Oracle policies, practices and processes.
  • Examining RF/x bid documents, to assess the integrity of company approvals for business dealings
  • Handling TDD reviews in a timely and efficient manner for order closure and bookings
  • Record keeping and working with our corporate systems controllers to produce reports and analytics
  • Participating in the LAD Legal and Compliance Department initiatives as need arises, and collaborating with Oracle Compliance Counsel and Compliance Officer locally as well as internationally.
  • Conducting training for sales and legal staff, and other employees regarding TDD and other compliance matters.

Your required skills:

  • Aptitude and consistent track record to audit commercial contracts
  • Proficiency in English and ideally, Mandarin, along with strong writing and oral communication skills and effective presentation skills.
  • Ability to perform and meet goals, adapt to constantly evolving requirements, and an understanding of our business requirements and policies.
  • Be able to instill trust and confidence in others and be seen as a trusted and valued adviser

Your preferred qualifications:

  • Professional qualifications to practice law or accounting
  • 5+ years of experience as a legal practitioner or working areas of financial operations
  • Experience with commercial contracting documentation, financial analysis and audit reviews of commercial contract documents and/or tenders and RFPs.

As a member of the legal department you will work with Oracle legal counsel to draft non-standard contractual provisions and to complete agreements between Oracle and its strategic customers.

Work with various internal organizations to ensure that Oracle contracts comply with company policies. Responsible for providing legal support for complex software license, hardware systems and services transactions with Oracle customers and partners. Focus on transactions involving proprietary and open source software licensing, software as a service, software hosting, professional consulting services, business process outsourcing, data privacy/security, hardware sales, distribution arrangements, as well as general corporate matters.

Commercial negotiating and contracting experience. Ability to manage a variety of tasks, evaluate alternatives quickly, and provide top quality assistance and support to internal clients. Outstanding written and oral communication skills. Prefer two to three years of relevant experience in a major corporation with five plus overall years of experience.
