About the Position:

The EMEA C&E team seeks a paralegal to support its work. In this role you will respond to requests for approvals, assist with C&E data analytics, train and guide Oracle employees and our business partners, enforce the partner and supplier due diligence program and support internal reviews and investigations.

 

This role is ideally suited to a junior lawyer seeking experience in a multi-national environment and the opportunity to develop legal, organizational and communication skills while working with experienced lawyers across multiple jurisdictions. This role will report to Oracle’s EMEA Deputy Regional Compliance Officer and will work closely with the team members in the region.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Business Requests:

Review requests for business courtesies, including meals and events, possible conflicts of interest and other business requests as required as per policy.

 

Training & Communication:

Support EMEA C&E team in developing and delivering training courses and communications to ensure that Oracle employees as well as its distribution partners understand and comply with Oracle’s Code of Ethics & Business Conduct, Global Anti-Corruption Policy and relevant laws.

 

Reviews and Investigations:

Support and collaborate with C&E counsel to record and track progress of all reviews and investigations and assist in additional follow-up actions.

 

Monitoring:

Use data to identify trends and establish common standards and propagate best practices.

 

Qualifications:

· Integrity and commitment to the highest ethical standards and personal values

· Undergraduate and legal degrees from top institutions, 1- 3 years post qualification experience

· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

· Fluency in English, written and oral. Fluent written and spoken Russian is an additional language skill that is strongly preferred

· Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work

· A high level of passion, self-motivation, responsiveness and adaptability.

· Experience in the technology industry as well as previous experience in compliance preferred

Provides paralegal support to one of the Legal Department’s specialty practice groups.

Drafts legal agreements, correspondence and other legal documents. Proficient in a specific area of law. Responds to legal inquiries. Performs legal research and legal filings. Other various projects as assigned.

Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. Computer proficient. Has strong management, research and organizational skills and is detail oriented. Strong written and verbal communication skills. BA/BS degree or related experience and 2 - 5 years relevant legal experience. Paralegal certificate preferred.
