Consulting Practice Director - Financial Services Global Business Unit (FSGBU)

Job Description:

  • Manage business development and delivery for the ORMB Consulting business in key accounts in banking and financial services vertical in the Americas region
  • Deliver on the KPIs such as bookings, revenue, operating margin, utilization, etc.
  • Develop bookings, revenue and margin forecasts for the key accounts in the Americas region
  • Develop and execute on a strategic as well as a tactical plan for the growth of the ORMB consulting business
  • Leading key account teams and acquisitions of large-scale assignments 
  • Leading multiple in-house consulting teams, driving the projects’ progress and advising client teams in day-to-day project execution
  • Supervising and delivering multiple high-impact projects as well as creating innovative thinking and developing new approaches
  • Be a trusted adviser to the clients
  • Track the recent trends in pricing, billing and revenue management, collate learning from the various implementation projects, and provide inputs to the product teams
  • Manage relationship with the senior executives at key accounts
  • Support sales of consulting services to the existing clients and well as to the prospects
  • Co-ordinate with the sales and the pre-sales team for client presentations, RFP responses, client demos and POCs
  • Provide estimates to the sales team for developing proposals and contracts
  • Recruit, train and skill the consulting team servicing clients
  • Develop consulting assets and knowledge base
  • Conduct performance reviews and recommend benefits, bonus, training programs, certifications, etc.
  • Support business development and marketing activities in the region
  • Ensure overall customer satisfaction
  • Provide support to the Oracle partners in the sales and the implementation of the ORMB solution
  • Manage relationships with other Oracle units - license sales, pre-sales, product engineering, product support, operations, PMO, Oracle cloud, etc.

 

Personal Qualifications:

 

  • At least 15 years of work experience with a leading pricing & billing solution provider or with a leading consulting firm that focuses on pricing, billing and revenue management for financial services
  • Prior experience of delivering large pricing and billing projects is desirable
  • Deep understanding of banking and financial services verticals is required
  • Excellent analytical skills as well as wide and varied experience in steering strategic and operational projects
  • Entrepreneurial thinking and excellent communication skills as well as strong team orientation
  • A skilled and highly motivated relationship builder who gets energy from engaging with people and their business issues, and cares about their success
  • Highly empathetic and able to engage and motivate our highly talented independent consultants, while respecting the unique nature of our relationship with them
  • Highly collaborative in your approach to working with colleagues, consultants, and clients
  • Obsessive about high standards and excellence in all aspects of what you do
  • Willingness to travel to national and international client sites
  • Degree from a leading institute (MBA desirable but not essential)
This director position is responsible for managing business operations and resources of a given practice that can be defined by industry, service line, technology center, specialty area or region. Responsible for managing the three main pillars of a practice: people management, portfolio/delivery management and sales enablement. Has profit and loss responsibility or financial/expense management of practice.

Accountable for operational/financial metrics and overall business results of practice. Responsible for maintaining strategic direction, ensuring profitable growth of the practice, quality of consulting delivery, and maintaining customer referenceability. Develops strategy and plans to successfully implement operational policies and achieve business objectives. Accountable for managing and growing a significant revenue stream and customer base. Typically manages multiple first line managers and/or senior level individual contributors. Resolves staffing issue in complex engagements. May serve as advisor or project sponsor role for moderately complex engagements.

10+ years of experience relevant to this position including 5 years of consulting experience and 2 years of project management leadership experience. Direct line Management experience including project, people, customer, financial management preferred. Product, technology or industry expertise relevant to the practice focus. Ability to develop and maintain relationships at the executive level. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Ability to travel as needed.
