Job Description

The Oracle Healthcare Global Business Unit (HCGBU) is a specialized business unit focused solely on the software and service requirements of the healthcare industry.  By delivering software solutions aimed at adding value to Healthcare organizations the HCGBU has the opportunity to be at the forefront of enabling better patient outcomes within the industry.

The Project Manager is part of the HCGBU Consulting team that ensures customer satisfaction through effective delivery of our software solutions, understanding the client’s business requirements, guiding their implementation and assisting in the configuration of the various products. The Project Manager’s responsibility will extend throughout the project life cycle – analyzing customer requirements, establishing and maintaining project scope, internal team oversight, customer training/workshops, project financials, facilitating communications and accountability, and to ensure successful system implementation according to the clients’ requirements.

Our teams work with cutting edge technologies and interact seamlessly with our industry-expert product management, quality assurance, documentation, and customer support teams in healthcare.

Note: Previous exposure to enterprise system delivery of healthcare systems or related business processes is required. Ability to travel as needed domestically and internationally.

The Project Manager will be responsible for deliverables at every phase of the software implementation lifecycle 
Works under the directives of the PMO in Oracle cloud based HCGBU solutions involving single or multiple work streams.
Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle’s solution meets the customer’s objectives by combining industry best practices and product knowledge.
Understands customer requirements and helps translate them into project deliverables and milestones.
Work with delivery teams to pre-qualify, scope, and position implementation services approach and team structure, schedule, and budget.
Plan and schedule project deliverables, goals, and milestones.
Assist with development of SOW and own the responsibility of managing to the SOW throughout the engagement.
Proactively identify risks and issues to prevent negative impact to customer satisfaction and on-time delivery.
Communicate internally with management for staffing requirements, project status, and escalations.
Represent the customer perspective during internal product and planning meetings.
Provide input to Engineering and Product Management teams on customer feedback.
Support product launch and new release activities.
Responsible for project governance, stewardship, financial management and project planning.
Prepare for and participate in customer steering meetings; help define and drive the strategy for Oracle HCGBU customer accounts.
Track and manage financial responsibility for your projects including bookings, revenue, and project gross margin.
Refine and embrace the Oracle HCGBU delivery methodology; manage projects accordingly using this methodology.
Efficiently identify and solve project issues.
Support sales cycles to show Oracle HCGBU in the best light possible as compared to the competition.
Serve as a liaison along with Business Development / Pre-Sales at key customer engagements.
Collaborate and partner with Sales, Product Management, and other key departments to achieve retention and customer satisfaction goals and objectives.

Candidate Requirements

5+ years serving as project manager or similar role in delivering related Healthcare enterprise systems, with a minimum of 5 years managing large-scale and complex enterprise software projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or Computer Science related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
Experience in a customer-facing role, preferably with a public healthcare organizations or software professional services organization is preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of computer systems and software application implementation (web and/or client server) including knowledge of SDLC (software development life cycle).
Formal Program/Project Management training & certification preferred.
Functionally proficient in using project management software (MS project, Excel, Visio) other analytical and statistical software packages and tools.
Familiarity with SQL or other software scripting languages is a plus.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and project deliverables.
Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills a must.
Understanding of project financial and budgetary principles.

As a member of the Consulting organization, you are responsible for ensuring that a quality, integrated software solution is delivered in a timely manner, at budget, and to our client*s satisfaction. This involves working closely with the client to understand and manage their expectations, as well as working closely with Oracle and third-party vendors to ensure delivery.

Creates and manages an overall project plan (including budget, structure, schedule, and staffing needs) for one or more Oracle engagements. Monitors and reports progress/changes against the plan. Drives implementation by providing motivation and direction.

Job duties are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. May have project lead role. A BS or BA in related fields. 5-7 year overall experience in functional or technical role. Two years experience in multi-dimensional issue resolution.

As a recognized authority and leading contributor, this project management professional, provides consistent innovative and high quality solution leadership. Responsible for guiding the successful implementation of non-routine and complex business solutions ensuring high quality and timely delivery within budget to the customer’s satisfaction.

Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle’s solution meets the customer’s objectives by combining industry best practices and product knowledge. Effectively applies Oracle’s methodologies and policies while adhering to contractual obligations, thereby minimizing Oracle’s risk and exposure. Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques for effective project delivery on small to medium engagements. Provides direction and mentoring to project team. Effectively influences decisions at the management level of customer organizations. Ensures deliverables are acceptable and works closely with the customer to understand and manage project expectations. Supports business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities and extensions. Collaborates with the consulting sales team by providing domain credibility. Manages the scope of medium sized projects including the recovery of remedial projects.

8-10 years of experience relevant to this position. Prior project team leadership or management experience. Demonstrated ability to follow solid project management principles. Comfortable working in a matrix management environment. Strong communication skills to deal with internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors. Product, technology or industry expertise relevant to the portfolio focus. Selling skills preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Ability to travel as needed.
