Role Description
The position offers senior DBAs,
technical architects, and technical operations consultants the opportunity for
a leadership role within the Technical Services Team of the Oracle Utilities Global
Delivery Center in Manila. Primary responsibilities will
involve\:
·
Incident and Problem Management for internal systems
and customer production systems running on Oracle Fusion Middleware products.
·
Day to day Technical Operations support of such
systems involving management and monitoring of stability, availability, and
performance; routine database administration activities; as well as patching,
upgrades, installation and configuration of Oracle Fusion Middleware
components.
·
People Management through work assignments, providing
direction, coaching, and driving the performance of a team of technical
architects & DBAs, taking leadership accountability for the resolution of
issues.
·
Stakeholder Management by acting as a level of
escalation for urgent issues as they arise and providing prompt communications
and effective management of expectations among the technical team, senior
management, and customers.
Successful candidates will have advanced experience
in Oracle Database Administration, possess strong hands-on experience in some
of the Oracle Fusion Middleware suite of products, have conceptual knowledge of
hosting technologies, and be accustomed to 24x7 technical operations support of
production environments and/or hosted infrastructure projects.
Requirements
·
University
degree in IT, Computer Science or any of its equivalents. Post graduate degrees preferred.
·
Minimum of 4
years full time technical supervisory or management experience in a role that
requires interaction with senior leadership (Director and above) and management
of resources of various technical backgrounds.
·
Minimum of 5
years experience in providing 24x7 application/infrastructure support.
·
8 years of system/database
administration experience

Advanced
applied knowledge of Oracle Database technology, Oracle RAC, and Oracle High
Availability infrastructures.

Proficiency
in capturing AWR reports, analyzing them and making performance
improvement recommendations.

Working
knowledge on ASM, NetApp storage and SnapManager (SMO) for Oracle Databases is
an advantage.

Proficiency
in creating and reading SQL scripts

Experience in popular scripting languages/tools (OS scripting such as
Windows Batch and Unix/Linux, WebLogic Scripting Tool (WLST), Jython/Python,
Perl)

Good
understanding of relational database design and normalization

Leads the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget.
Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle solution meets the customer’s objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen. Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques to deliver functional and technical solutions on non-routine and very complex aspects of applications and technology installations. Provides direction and mentoring to project teams, and effectively influences customer leadership on key decisions. Supports the business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities and extensions. Collaborates with the consulting sales team by providing domain expertise. Resolves complex customer issues by recommending and implementing solutions. Demonstrates expertise in multiple business processes across two or more product families or ability to architect and design technology solutions encompassing multiple products and make decisions based on impact across the stack.
8-10 years of experience relevant to this position including 4 years of consulting experience. Prior team leadership or management experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to travel as needed.!|!
