Exciting opportunity to be the leader for a global cloud service for data science and machine learning.


The Product

Oracle Cloud’s Data Science service enables enterprise data science teams to build, train, deploy, and manage models on the Oracle Cloud. It provides a workbench to centralize, organize, and manage data science work; provides access to cutting-edge Oracle Cloud compute and data sources; and ModelOps workflows to increase overall quality and quantity of candidate models ready for production. Teams of data scientists from major Fortune 100 companies can deliver results to production faster and with more confidence.

The Role

We are in search of a Product Management leader to own all inbound and outbound aspects of this cloud service.   This is a terrific opportunity to work in one of the most exciting groups at Oracle with a compelling set of big data, cloud-native, and data science technologies.  

We are looking for a strategic thinker who also drives execution excellence and works cross functionally to launch and grow a service to global scale.   This leader will work independently to analyze the market, prioritize requirements, detect adjacent opportunities and define detailed roadmaps.

This is an opportunity to lead an accomplished team of high achieving product managers and data scientists and collaborate with a dynamic team of peer technologists and business leaders. 


Required Experience\:

  • 8 years of total experience in product development/management
  • At least 1-2 years of experience with data science and machine learning
  • Proven experience leading agile development, delivery, operations and sales enablement for cloud services
  • Functional product management leadership experience of 5 years preferably with global scale cloud services
  • Excellent communicator with a strong internal drive and ability to report plans and status effectively to executives
  • Natural problem solver who proactively removes friction for the team by working across organizational boundaries through persuasive influence

!|!Manage a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a Senior Director in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Envision and communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers. Interacts internally and externally with executive management, providing negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge important. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience preferred.
