Job Description

The Oracle Data Cloud is on the cutting edge in development of measurement and targeting methodologies for digital and TV advertising. The biggest advertisers, CPG companies, and social media platforms in the world use these methods to help better understand and plan their advertising strategies. 

 

As a Senior Data Scientist (Data Scientist III) on the measurement research team, you’ll be working on the latest Measurement product from ODC, Moat Reach. (https://moat.com/solutions/reachhttps://blogs.oracle.com/oracledatacloud/how-moat-reach-captures-cross-platform-reach-and-frequency) You will be developing cutting edge statistical methodology in a high performance computing environment. This requires collaborating with researchers, software engineers, and external partners to understand relevant business needs, optimize performance, and provide accurate first-in-industry techniques to quantify media effectiveness.
 
Primary responsibilities will include:

• Providing thought leadership in statistics and data analysis to the entire analytics organization.

• Effectively communicating with Product Management, Engineering, and senior business leaders to facilitate broader analytics understanding.

• Researching, prototyping, and testing new methodology for measuring campaign effectiveness and building predictive algorithms to maximize ad delivery efficiency, For example,

• Building modeling frameworks to estimate campaign reach and frequency across digital and TV platforms.

• Developing post-hoc methods to improve the accuracy and efficiency of estimation.

• Identifying opportunities for improvement across our marketing ecosystem.

• Serving as a resource for other data scientists as methodology is developed and deployed.

Here’s a summary of the skills that will provide success in this position:

• MS in Statistics, Biostatistics or related field with 5+ years of experience or a PhD with 1-3 years experience. 

• 5+ years experience working with ‘big data’. Marketing analytics, missing data and causal inference experience is a big plus.

• Expertise with a statistical analysis software package (R or Python). 

• Experience with other big data tools (SQL, Hive, Hadoop, etc.).

• The desire to continually learn and test your own boundaries.

• Ability to thrive in a fast paced, and dynamic work evironment.

• Exceptional problem solving skills with unrelenting focus on practical business implications.

Designs, develops and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement.

Interacts with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments. Develops and codes software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. Identifies meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers.

Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years relevant work experience. BS/BA preferred.

Colorado Pay Range:  From $99,333 to $178,795 per annum
Eligible for bonus and equity
