Job Title:

DevOps Engineer / SRE

 

Summary:

You will be working in a dynamic environment of supporting and migrating Linux-based webservices in multiple clouds. You will help design/automate infrastructure and deployments, write internal frameworks and tools.

The team is a new and you will have the ability to help design its workflows, processes, standards, and culture.

This position will require participation on on-call support and off-hours maintenance work.

Responsibilities:

· Analyze, design, test, document, implement infrastructure across all regional cloud environments and services.

· Design tools for managing the infrastructure and develop clean and re-usable simple code.

· Implement and manage OS and application metrics on the monitoring solution.

· Prepare and update documentation for the team and users from other teams, detailing usage and configuration of deployed solutions.

· Drive the continual evolution and support of the infrastructure plan for consistency and growth.

· Resolve and troubleshoot operational issues on technological and logical levels.

· Train and mentor peers to develop the team’s technical skills and knowledge.

Absolute Musts:

· Programming basics - algorithms and data structures, OOP, clean code.

· Familiarity with one programming language, ideally Python, but can be JavaScript, C#, Java, Ruby, etc.

· Networking basics – stack of network protocols, hands-on experience and knowledge (TCP, DNS, http, https, routing, VPN, firewalls).

· Linux basics

· Web - Security basics

· Experience with automating infrastructure or strong affinity for it

· Ability to multi-task, prioritizing multiple goals and initiatives.

· The bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in the IT field.

Define, design, and implement network communications and solutions within a fast-paced, leading edge database/applications company.

Perform performance trend analysis and manage the server/network capacity. Propose client configuration and implement technical solutions to enhance and/or troubleshoot the system. Work with others to define, coordinate vendor purchase needs. Responsible for support documentation as well.

Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years of related experience in a medium to large network distributed and computing environment. BS in Computer Science or related field.
