Position Overview\:
The Oracle Development Systems Administrator is an enterprise data center entry-level position. Training will be given in all needed areas.
You will support services by closely working with engineers who built them for faster troubleshooting and solving customer issues. Our goal is to use software to speed up traditionally slow, manual infrastructure tasks, doing in hours what used to take days or weeks. You will own services support of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure (https\://cloud.oracle.com/cloud-infrastructure).
You will have an opportunity to develop skills related to DC Operations and provide support to the local support teams. You will learn to troubleshoot and solve all but the most complex infrastructure issues by closely working with engineering teams with-in OCI. As a skilled troubleshooter on a wide range of Data Center environment and services you understand which issues to escalate and their appropriate resolver groups. You will create maintain and improve processes and documentation on technologies you support, understand all aspects of the equipment you support, know how to innovate and make decisions on your own, take direction and feedback when it is given, pay attention to all details involved. Along with it you will help introduce automation to simplify the process for future.
You will act as technical liaison for our engineering teams, champion standardization, innovate to simplify, increase efficiency while driving down cost. Execute small projects on your own and work with management to plan and complete large local deployments. Proactively monitor services by paying attention to ticket queues and consulting with other groups involved in maintaining the environments. Making recommendations to resolve system errors and performance issues and take corrective actions.
Qualifications\:
Must demonstrate strong foundational knowledge of 5 or more of the following areas
· Systems administration (Linux and/or Windows Servers)
· Strong troubleshooting skills in large, Enterprise customer environments
· Deep understanding of networking (DNS, TCP/IP)
· Good understanding of Scripting using one of JavaScript/Perl/Python
· Demonstrated examples of process improvement execution
· Demonstrated examples of details of a systems or process to solve customer problems
· Excellent oral and written communication skill
· Ability to take direction, understand SOPs/ MOPs, and escalate appropriately
· Open to provide on-call support duties as needed
Candidate Profile\:
Knowledge of data center supportecosystem
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
· 3 year relevant experience in a Support/Operations role preferred
!|!Provides day-to-day technical support to employees for network infrastructure and internal desktop systems software and hardware. Installs, configures and troubleshoots desktop systems, workstations, servers and network issues in a heterogeneous environment.Maintains passwords, data integrity and file system security for the desktop environment. Communicates highly technical information to both technical and nontechnical personnel. Recommends hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades. May participate in development of information technology and infrastructure projects. May conduct training programs
Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. 2 years relevant experience and BA/BS degree preferred.
