Job Description

As Director – GOC, you would be mainly responsible for following


Responsible for driving day to day execution of teams to be inline with published SLA's,  

Identify and develop  strategy on areas of improvement/ efficiency, metrics reporting and compliance.  

Escalation point for issues and non standard requests

Work closely with senior management for understanding expectation & aligning operation accordingly. Should have confidence to build consultative relationship with executive(s)

Attend Executive meetings confidently, demonstrate experience in regularly facing and presenting facts, data and endeavors to executive

Confidently run meetings with external stakeholders of the group. 

People management– 1\:1’s, goal setting, performance reviews

Recruiting and interviewing appropriate resources with suitable and methodical interview skills

Ensue team complies with incident response  and other SOP procedures, like updating incident tracking tools, reviewing CMDB and be able to carry out fair amount of L1.5 level investigation.

Building working relationships and cooperative atmosphere with tech teams

Identifying & Working on strategic initiatives, Should be able to own multiple strategic projects and deliver the same along with BAU tasks

Aligning mindset of team towards continuously improving processes and automation as well as out of box thinking

Bringing about culture of accountability & responsibility in each team member

Promoting and accepting integration and cross culture working across multiple geographical spread of the team

Identify Dev Op’s opportunities and be able to engage process team/ tools team/ Dev teams to implement  automation

Coaching, mentoring and guidance to team members

Handle escalation 24/7 along and be part of escalation matrix and be able to respond to EXEC 24/7

Ensure communications both internal, FRG related and external are sent as per SLA in time


Must have’s


Degree in IT and minimum experience 14 years

Experience of being part of a modern Operation Center that is responsible for 24x7 monitoring, incident response.

Experience on tools like PagerDuty and Slack

Managing a team of 20   Demonstrate PPM skills in interview

Understanding of technology in IaaS space– should have been hands on at some time in career 

Dev OP’s mindset – automation experience in IT Op’s\: Demonstrate past experience in interview  PPT

Should have worked with some of the top global  Companies in IT Op’s preferably Cloud Op’s 

Experience in Running IT Operations Projects, and agile small roll out’s

Solid Understanding of Cloud Operational excellence, KPI Setup and Management/ achievement, ensuring KPI/ compliance achievement

Deep knowledge of Change Management (at Infra, Middleware & App layer), how the request/ approval/ implement/ Roll back works 

Demonstrable understanding of Monitoring tools, IM tools and challenges faced by IT Op’s team with the same. Should be able to work on tool alignment, Process alignment

Open to work in shifts as needed to collaborate with Global teams

Manages teams supporting and/or implementing multi-functional and/or multi-location projects and/or systems. Defines, documents and manages scope, expectations, implementation approach, deliverables and acceptance testing criteria. Develops and manages an effective risk mitigation strategy for the project(s).

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations. Successful track record as a manager. Detailed knowledge of technical and business concepts of a number of related applications areas. BA/BS degree preferred.
