Enterprise Contracts Consulting – ECC Team, GLAS Organization

Organization

Oracle's Global Licensing and Advisory Services (GLAS) is a customer facing licensing and investment support organization that provides customers and partners with the most up-to-date knowledge, best practices and insights to manage and optimize the customer’s Oracle license investment.

GLAS employs industry-leading practices and tools coupled with the most up-to-date Oracle license knowledge to minimize Oracle licensing risk and provide the ability to gain control of the Oracle license landscape.

We are seeking experienced and dynamic individuals to promote and deliver GLAS services to customers, and to contribute to the development and growth of the GLAS business.

Our GLAS Consultants have the unique opportunity to work across many Oracle functions and lines of business. Consultants regularly communicate with external stakeholders, from C-level executives to DBAs, and act as the only Oracle authority on license compliance.

 

Role

  • Responsible for delivering ULA engagements with customers
  • Coordinates the local execution of the Enterprise Contracts Consulting – ULA Team strategy in alignment with the direction of the GLAS strategies. 

  Scope

  • Works with Enterprise Contracts Consulting - ULA Team, but might also interact with other GLAS teams, Customers, Sales, Legal, Contracts and Support Renewals
  • Reports to functional manager
  • Works within assigned territory

Responsibilities

  • Participates in license management engagements with customers, following defined standard processes, that aid in the proper management and distribution of Oracle products
  • Verifies the ULA deployment information for accuracy and reasonableness, considering contractual entitlement and customer’s architecture
  • Develops expertise in contractual agreements, licensing policies, measurement analysis, compliance and SAM practices in order to address the complexity of customer architectures and breadth of products
  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) in the area of activity and deliverables produced
  • Builds relationship with internal stakeholders to facilitate engagement progress
  • Operating in line with Oracle processes/procedures and GLAS Core Values 
  • Learning GLAS and Oracle environment and policies
  • Contributes to cross-team projects aimed at increasing the sharing of best practices and the efficiency of GLAS processes
  • Uses structured methodology and analytics to identify and solve problems
  • Is actively involved in the team’s process development by proposing solutions and suggestions meant to increase and/or improve results

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of studies and experience
  • 3-5 years customer facing experience in IT/asset management consulting, audit or customer management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment, balancing challenging workloads and deadlines with attention to deliverables
  • Customer facing experience in IT/asset management consulting, audit or customer management and understanding of the software industry is a plus
  • Proactive, dynamic, and able to identify and deliver quality work even when unsupervised
  • Fluent in English and any of the following languages such as  Japanese / Korean / Mandarin languages to support our clients.

Delivers license management services and programs to customers and partners, in order to govern, manage and promote awareness of the proper use and distribution of Oracle solutions. Provides expertise, advisement and tools that aid in managing compliance with Oracle's contractual agreements, while providing value-added services to enhance satisfaction.

Performs qualification activities in assigned segment to identify accounts/areas where compliance needs to be assessed and ensured. Executes license management engagements/programs with customers and partners, following defined standard processes, that aid in the proper management and distribution of Oracle products. Develops expertise in contractual agreements, licensing policies, technical verification, compliance processes and other relevant areas, using this to provide analysis and license management advisement. Plans and drives progress on project milestones.

Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. Ability to comprehend and interpret licensing issues. Strong analytical skills. Ability to communicate clearly. Typically 2 years of related experience to include 2-3 years customer facing experience in IT/asset management consulting, audit or customer management and understanding of the software industry is preferred.
