? Implement and develop the Global and EHS System in the region (processes, units, activities, functions, people in the region). Monitoring progress, identifying issues, reporting to local/regional management and global/regional EHS as required/appropriate.
? Work closely with managements to identify and eliminate workplace hazards and mitigate risks and minimize negative environmental impacts.
? Ensure that EHS standards are considered and followed in the daily operations and in change management.
? Support EHS incident reporting, analysis and corrective action and actively participate in group activities for dissemination of best practices.
? Measure and monitor EHS performance and provide status reports for review by the Global EHS management.
? Promote a zero tolerance of substandard practice through challenge and support where issues are identified.
? Conduct EHS training activities with staff in the region
? Prepare, review, and update environmental investigation and recommendation reports.
? Obtain, update, and maintain plans, permits, and standard operating procedures.
? Provide technical-level support for environmental remediation and litigation projects, including remediation system design and determination of regulatory applicability.
? Monitor progress of environmental improvement programs
? Inspect industrial and municipal facilities and programs in order to evaluate operational effectiveness and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
? Provide administrative support for projects by collecting data, providing project documentation, training staff, and performing other general administrative duties.
? Develop proposed project objectives and targets, and report to management on progress in attaining them.
? Conducts health program in industrial plant or governmental organization to recognize, eliminate, and control occupational health hazards and diseases: Collects samples of dust, gases, vapors, and other potentially toxic materials for analysis.
? Investigates adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting, and other conditions which may affect employee health, comfort, or efficiency.
? Conducts evaluations of exposure to ionizing and nonionizing radiation and to noise, and recommends measures to ensure maximum employee protection.
? Collaborates with INDUSTRIAL-HEALTH ENGINEER and PHYSICIAN, OCCUPATIONAL to institute control and remedial measures for hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions and equipment.
? Prepares reports including observations, analysis of contaminants, and recommendations for control and correction of hazards.
? Participates in educational meetings to instruct employees in matters pertaining to occupational health and prevention of accidents.
Qualifications
? Working knowledge of EHS and quality regulations and policies
? Good knowledge in and experience with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
? Experience and knowledge in ISO 9001, Lean principles or similar is an advantage
? Experience and Q, EHS audit training is an advantage
? Good communication and training skills
? Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels in Chinese and English
? Excellent written/verbal communication skills and proven problem solving skills
? Must be proficient with computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets and databases
? Have a sense of urgency, pro-activeness and good problem-solving skills to provide quick and efficient responses to EHS issues.
? Bachelor Degree
? Over 5 years EHS working experience.
