Job Description

Overall Position Narrative

  • A detail-oriented, key contributor for the Global EHS Team, working collaboratively with peers and EHS Professionals across a multi-national setting toward EHS program implementation.
  • Manage EHS Projects in support of Oracle Cloud and associated projects within the Global EHS organization, developing and supporting EHS programs for Oracle Lines of Business (LoB), Real Estate & Facilities, or Regional Operations that span multiple geographies.
  • Assist and support the Global EHS organization in evaluating and implementing regulatory requirements for environmental, health and safety to ensure EHS program conformance for all Oracle Stakeholders.


Required Qualifications

  • Degree or certificate in the field of Health & Safety, Environmental, Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering/Management, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years directly related professional experience
  • Registration or Certifications as either\: Professional Engineer (P.E.), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Health and Safety Manager (CSHM), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification preferred or International Equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of environment, health and safety regulations, and policies.  
  • Ability and interest in researching and understanding specific code or regulatory language in order to maintain EHS compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills and ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels, including external customers, and vendors.  Strong English-language fluency required. 
  • Superior stakeholder engagement skills to engage and contribute with multiple stakeholders is key. 
  • Comfortable with developing and delivering presentations to internal and external stakeholders of all levels.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in resolving and managing EHS-related issues in a data center environment
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
  • Strong project management skills (proven ability to manage a scope, schedule and budget)
  • Proficiency in Slack, Zoom, and Atlassian Suite


Responsibilities

  1. EHS
  1. Provides project management support for major EHS programs such as Global EHS Audit, Contractor Safety, Environmental Due Diligence, Data Center Safety, Product Environmental Compliance, etc.
  2. Assist in the development and implementation of EHS policies, programs, and procedures to be used throughout the company.
  3. Provides regular review and improvement of existing EHS programs, procedures, and policies.
  4. Champion development and implementation of site-level procedures to manage EHS Risks in data center environment.  
  5. Support compliance with country, federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to environment and occupational health and safety through administration of Audit, Risk Assessment, and EHS Inspection programs. 
  6. Identifies new and emerging EHS regulatory requirements; implements programs and procedures to ensure compliance[g1] .
  7. Provides technical guidance throughout the company in the areas of occupational health, safety and environment.
  8. Conduct and/or Support Incident/Accident Investigations
  1. Provides safety stewardship and oversight for Oracle contractors.
  1. Ensure corrective action is taken where health and safety hazards exist.   

 

  1. Reporting Responsibilities
  1. Maintains document management system such that documents can be easily retrieved to demonstrate EHS compliance.
  2. Creates and updates guidelines for posting to EHS portal.


6)  Travel Requirements

  1. Travel as required to conduct EHS regulatory compliance audits to evaluate compliance, identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, conduct EHS training, or attend team meetings and summits.

Provide building and office management services for economy of operation and maximum usage of facilities and equipment. Work with external vendors to develop and implement facilities plans. Review vendor contracts, onsite vendor performance, timely work order completion, and construction related activities. Participate in collaborative space planning efforts with internal resources and user groups. Prepare and monitor annual property budget and other related costs in facility planning. This position will interface with both senior management as well as individual contributors.

As a member of our Real Estate and Facilities team, you will assist the building or office manager in all aspects of daily operations. This may include managing Oracle's office space and equipment. Ensure adherence to company guidelines, processes and building and safety codes. Obtain, review and estimate design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, and preparation. Prepare annual budget. Conduct benchmarking.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. May have project lead role. Applies professional, technical, and operational depth and experience to continuously improve service quality. Good communication skills and familiarity with email and MS Office applications is essential. After hours contact for facilities emergencies, accessible via phone or pager. Degree, relevant certification or equivalent with 8 years prior facilities management or assistant property manager experience preferred.
