Exadata Pre Sales Consultant

Job Description

Sales Consultant, responsible for database/exadata and options presales.

The focus for this position will be Oracle Database, Options include:

*develop and deliver high quality Oracle presentations and demonstrations matching product capabilities to Customers, SI/Partners requirements

*manage RFI/RFP's as directed

*establish account presence and build trust with key SI/Partners

*share responsibility for the account sales strategy with the Sales Representatives and broader sales team

*develop and manage reference sites

*share product/industry/competitive knowledge through internal presentations and white paper development with broader sales team

- Supports the completion of RFP and RFI requests from SI/Partners. Produce high quality input to proposals, bids and tender responses

- Participate and facilitate in-depth demonstration of product functions and features to partners/SI

- Strive to become an acknowledged expert by keeping abreast of new features and product releases

- Able to engage with Field Sales as required

- Learns and maintains in-depth knowledge of Oracle database/Exadata solutions

- Learns and maintains in-depth knowledge of Oracle database competitive products and technologies

- Analyses, and documents potential customers requirements and position Oracle solutions to address such requirements

- Supports the completion of RFP and RFI requests from customers, SI and Partners

- Able to engage with Field Sales and partners as required

 

 

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • EXPERIENCE

 

  • 3~10 Yrs IT industry experience - strong preference for implementation background
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge of Oracle Database/Exadata & Options like Clustering, Partitioning etc.

- In-depth knowledge of OS (UNIX/LINUX/Windows)

- Spoken and written skills in English

- Compatible interpersonal skills and multi cultural sensitivity essential

- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing, progressive organization essential

- Ability to work independently and with a team required

- Ability to analyze, and document potential customers requirements and position Oracle solutions to address such needs is required

- Ability to work to a deadline required

- Self motivated, desire to learn independently required

- Strong communication and training skills required

 

  • QUALIFICATIONS
  • Tertiary qualification preferred
  • Oracle DB & Exadata experiences are preferred
  • Any other architect level certification is an added advantage

Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.

As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
