Job Summary
- Responsible for proactively soliciting business.
- The position is accountable for handling large group or other customer segments related to opportunities with significant revenue potential.
- Actively up-sells each business opportunity to maximize revenue for individual properties.
- Aligns customer profile with the appropriate product.
- Achieves personal and team related revenue goals.
- Ensures business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery in accordance with the luxury collection standards of excellence.
- Creates opportunities to grow the account base through customer interactions.
- Shapes and executes an overall marketing strategy.
- Communicates this strategy to the marketing team and other business units.
- Coordinates with sales management in order to ensure alignment of marketing and sales strategies.
- Evaluates past programs/events and develops new programs in order to generate tours and meet or exceed goals.
- Participates in the performance management, coaching, recruiting, and selection of the marketing workforce, and develops compensation plans that will maximize productivity.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understanding Market Opportunities &
Driving Revenue
- Targets high end Luxury Travel Agencies and Tour Operations accounts across various markets, or segments with heavy emphasis on proactive solicitation and account saturation.
- Partners with counterpart to effectively manage the business opportunity.
- Identifies, qualifies and solicits new business to achieve personal and property revenue goals.
- Focuses efforts on accounts with significant potential sales revenue.
- Develops effective sales plans and actions.
- Maximizes revenue by upselling packages.
- Understands the overall market - competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them.
- Closes the best opportunities based on market conditions and individual property needs.
- Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
- Handles complex business with significant revenue potential as well as significant customer expectations.
- Participates in sales calls with members of sales team to acquire new business and/or close on business.
- Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).
- Identifies new business to achieve personal and location revenue goals.
- Understands the overall market - competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them.
- Closes the best opportunities for the location based on market conditions and location needs.
- Gains understanding of the property’s primary target customer and service expectations; serves the customer by understanding their business, business issues and concerns, to offer better business solution.
- Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.
- Supports the company’s service and relationship strategy, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
- Services our customers in order to grow share of the account.
- Executes and supports the company’s customer service standards.
- Provides excellent customer service consistent with the daily service basics of the company.
- Manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to include budget considerations, site goals, and forecasts for appropriate activities.
- Verify that pricing and communications regarding previews are consistent across all channels. Develop tour generation program initiatives, including but not limited to owner referral and reload programs, off-site locations, and travel partner promotions.
- Collect and analyze competitive intelligence (e.g., marketing programs/campaigns) to assist in the enhancement and development of current and future marketing strategy.
- Responsible for managing and implementing appropriate marketing mix to ensure attainment of overall marketing costs.
- Coordinate with marketing operations and other site marketing programs on new initiatives to increase production in channels.
- Develop strategies and incentive programs to meet or exceed budgeted numbers. Identify trends when production is not meeting budget expectations and implement solutions.
- Conduct performance and cost analysis of past programs/events (including budget considerations and contractual provisions) and make recommendations to improve and enhance future programs/events.
- Conduct competitive market analysis (e.g., cost per tour, development plans, and marketing cost by channel and effort).
- Utilizes intranet for resources, templates, and information.
- Participates in site visits.
- Develops and facilitate execution of contracts as required.
- Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).
- Executes brand’s Customer Service Standards and property’s Brand Standards through the sales process.
Job Requirements
- Hotel industry and luxury properties work experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 4 years experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area.
- 4-year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area.
- Proven marketing experience and understanding of current media trends.
