Detailed Description and Job Requirements

This is a Quality Assurance Analyst position where experience, skills and knowledge include a thorough understanding of software testing practices, policies and procedures are applied to complete tasks and to advance organizational testing efforts.

Another aspect of the candidate’s job will be functional testing, which includes bug validation, enhancement testing and defect tracking.  Candidate will be responsible for developing test requirements and test cases, documenting test plans and communicating issues found during testing to all interested parties.  Candidate will draw on their analytical and communication skills, develop their product knowledge and technical skills, and become knowledge of internal tools and processes in order to be successful.

Skill set requirements

Mandatory:

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processing and taxation.
  • Six to ten years of testing experience, including both manual and automation testing.
  • Experience with enterprise application testing, to include developing test requirements and test cases and the creation of test plans.
  • Document test plans for new/existing features with diverse scope and high complexity.
  • Utilize best practice to develop modular test scripts.
  • Participate in functional and technical design reviews.
  • Facilitate the testware review process and provide constructive feedback during peer testware review.
  • Utilize automation test tools to automate, customize, maintain and execute tests.
  • Ability to understand/create library functions.
  • In-depth knowledge of test management and defect tracking tools, such as ALM.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in working with virtual and geographically dispersed teams to develop/test software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – must be able to communicate fluently in English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing.

Desirable Experiences/Skills:

  • Payroll management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of PeopleSoft Payroll for North America
  • Good understanding of PeopleSoft technical architecture.
  • Experience working on a Scrum team.
  • Good knowledge of Visual Basic and SQL.

Education:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or Finance related field.

Job Description:

The job entails both functional and automation testing of the Payroll for North America product. The successful candidate will be responsible for following procedures to ensure that PeopleSoft products meet organization standards and end-user requirements creating, updating and fixing automated testware, and for executing these automated tests regularly on builds, as well as for new feature and certification testing. The PeopleSoft Test Framework (PTF) tool is the primary tools used for automation.

 

Responsible for developing, applying and maintaining quality standards for company products with adherence to both internal and external standards. Develops and executes software test plans. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results. Analyzes test results and recommends corrective actions.

As a member of the technical/process QA division, you will design functional, integration and regression test plans, build and execute manual and automated tests and perform highly complex analysis for multiple products. Set cross-functional product testing standards. Analyze, evaluate and plan methods of approach and organize means to achieve solutions to complex problems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
