Job Description

We are looking for a Fusion Middleware Engineer who will be responsible of Fusion Middleware (FMW) product and technology expertise mainly on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Gen-1 & Gen-2 and understanding of how they are applied to build customer solutions. They are called upon to create standards for architecture and sizing, help customers develop solutions to solve business problems, and develop the project and technical plans to upgrade software, modify configurations, change integration solutions, and add additional functionality.

The team invests heavily in the design and development of tools and utilities to improve application and service availability. This includes tools to reduce the time-to-identify cause, time-to-restore service, auto-heal, and auto-fix scripts.

 

In terms of technical skills:

Understanding of customer architecture on Oracle Cloud, DB Systems and Marketplace offerings of Oracle.
Migration and upgrade strategies for Oracle Databases to DB Systems, Middletier applications like SOA, IDAM, WebCenter, Oracle Data Integrator to on Oracle Cloud's IaaS, PaaS & Marketplace offerings.

Working knowledge of Infrastructure as a service (IaaS) service model of Oracle Cloud infrastructure (or any similar cloud providers). knowledge of key concepts like Compute, Storage, networking, Security & Identity, and databases.

Working knowledge of Platform as a service (PaaS) preferably Oracle SOA Cloud Service, Java Cloud Service and various Marketplace offerings in Oracle
Fusion Middleware (FMW) 11g and 12c: WebCenter Suite including Content and Imaging, SOA Suite, BPM Suite, WebCenter Sites- Administer, troubleshoot, integrate, manage via CLI and Fusion Middleware Control, plan/execute patching and major upgrades. Triage and resolve critical outage and availability incidents for the FMW products.

Identity & Access Management (IDAM) Suite: Configure IDM components to protect applications and other FMW products, troubleshoot authentication issues, manage LDAP directories.

DevOps tools, methodology and scripting, and Automation tools:

Design/build/test Shell, Python, and Java tools to support software life-cycle operations and maintenance activities. This includes patch automation, custom health checks, self-healing functions to detect and correct run-time exceptions or failures. Create and manage Ansible Playbooks or SaltStack to perform fleet management tasks such as application and platform configuration management. Proficiency with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Ansible, SaltStack, and Selenium.

WebLogic Server/JRockit/HotSpot: Configuration, WLST scripting, administration, troubleshooting, patching, JVM sizing and performance tuning, administering cluster topologies. Manage Java and WebLogic SSL keystores. Performing application server hardening to protect against malicious attacks.
Automation of various IaaS and PaaS offerings using REST APIs and Inbuilt CLIs for Cloud Infrastructure.

Work with Oracle's world class technology to develop, implement, and support Oracle's global infrastructure.

As integral part of a global Organization, the Title will be working within an international environment with colleagues around the globe and contribute to global technology driven initiatives or innovation programs for continuous service improvements. 

 

As a FMW Engineer in Oracle ACS you will

  • Assess and analyze customers business needs to make sure that Oracle solutions meets the customer’s objectives.
  • Assist customers in their overall Journey to Cloud.
  • Ensure Oracle cloud technologies are leveraged appropriately using best practices.
  • Be the Oracle Solution Delivery authority to ensure that customers make informed decisions regarding scope to achieve beneficial solutions cost effectiveness, quality and reusability.
  • Providing technical guidance on Oracle cloud and/or on-premise solutions to customer and other Oracle team members to underpin successful delivery.
  • Support solutions around multi-cloud and hybrid cloud setups.
  • Ensure successful handover from Implementation toward operations making sure the implemented solution will fit the customer requirements.
  • Maintain the Oracle Solution to make sure the customer demands needs will be met. Platforms for Oracle solutions are on premise, cloud or hybrid running various workloads (application, middleware, database and infrastructure).
  • Working closely with the Technical Account Manager to ensure that the individual work streams are technically well managed.
  • Be the main contact for new business opportunities by supporting our presales team. Identifies and promotes opportunities for sales of Oracle products and services to support business growth.
  • Actively lead and contribute to strategic programs and initiatives.
  • Ability to be a technical team leader and coach team members in relevant skills. Finding ways to recognize the contributions of others in the team.

Job Requirements, Skills and Qualifications

  • +12  in delivering Oracle solutions and/or transformation programs ideally using cloud technologies.
  • Applicants are required to read, write, and speak Arabic \ English and French  are a plus.
  • You may be required to deliver services both remotely or onsite depending on business requirements.
  • You have experience acting as a specialist, developer or similar with cloud solution design, development and delivery.
  • You are proficient in designing and developing Oracle cloud solutions.
  • You have excellent analytical, problem solving, strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff at all levels of the customer organization.
  • You are an undergraduate or higher level degree(s) holder or having an equivalent work experience will be considered too.
  • You have a positive, resilient and creative attitude with an open and agile mind set in front of challenging situations.
  • Driven to take Innovative proposals and make them mature solutions.
  • You have the ability to break down complex problems/issues to determine suitability and make appropriate assessments and recommendations.
  • You think out of the box and you are creative with solutions.
  • You are keen to learn new cloud technologies using the training opportunities and lab resources in Oracle.

As a member of the Support organization, your focus is to deliver post-sales support and solutions to the Oracle customer base while serving as an advocate for customer needs. As a Senior Principal Systems Engineer, you are a guru, with strong expertise across the stack & tiers (application and system), focused in the creation and management of business solutions using Oracle technology, the operations surrounding it, and the Oracle services infrastructure needed to achieve the highest service levels (e.g., availability, performance, etc.) and consequent high customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for setting overall technology direction for key areas to invest resources in, building internal expertise and leveraging knowledge within the Support organization. You will be expected to resolve and help guide resolution of multiple highly difficult and complex problems and escalations involving several product areas, while providing consultation to senior technical advisors on projects, reviewing their work and advising areas for self-advancement.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Bachelor*s and Master*s degree in Computer Science or Engineering (Advanced degree such as MBA and/or Ph.D. a plus) 10 years related experience prior to taking this position. In addition, extensive experience with Oracle*s core products, applications, and tools. Only proven top performing candidates of high integrity in previous job positions/grades are considered.
