Job Description

OracleLabs GraalVM is investing into development of GraalVM VSCode extensions to enable GraalVM unique features within the IDE to broad spectrum of developers. The goal is to support generic IDE features for Java and scripting languages on top of GraalVM with a focus on GraalMV features like Polyglot edit-compile-debug cycle and Native Image development, build and debugging support. Micronaut support is the other top class feature our tooling is working on. GraalVM IDE support is partially Java based using Language Server Protocol technology implemented in NetBeans Language Server with VSCode "front end". Our work is available as GraalVM Extension Pack from VSCode Marketplace.

GraalVM Tools team is looking JavaScript interns willing to work with the team on GraalVM VSCode extensions prototype, develop and test it. 

Requirements:

  • JavaScript development experience 2+ years
  • Node.js or TypeScript experience
  • Java programming skills
  • Experience with developing language parsers, debuggers is a plus
  • Familiar with Git, npm or Maven/Gradle
  • Fluent spoken and written English

Responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting and debugging software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

Uses basic knowledge of software architecture to perform tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Work involves some basic problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes.

Works on assignments that are not complex in nature. Follows standard practices and procedures. May seek detailed instructions on work. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.
