What will you help us create?

As Hardware Development Engineer in this role will be responsible to work with ODM vendors which includes leading discussions with Contract Manufacturer and SOC vendors on chip selection, implementation of features, schematic reviews, lay out reviews, RF, power delivery, mechanical, ID. Should be hands on to test the prototype hardware in lab and provide feedback to future board revisions. Experience in working Automotive industry is helpful but not a must.

You will be responsible for the schematic and PCB design based on the reference platform. In addition, you will also act as system integrator, leading the cross-functional engineering team through the development process. You will be responsible for the overall hardware including audio, RF, power, display, etc; as well as leading the team through all the usual integration challenges – ESD, EMC, antenna performance, etc. In this role, you will:

• Perform schematic design reviews and work with the CAD team on PCB layout
• Drive the team through the concept / design / optimize & validate phases of a project
• Work with Software teams on device bring-up and development
• Work with the product design team on mechanical integration
• Work with the operations team on manufacturing test development and Contract Manufacturers
• Travel to support engineering builds
• Be accountable for delivering on schedule and meeting the performance, features and quality requirements for the project

As a Hardware Engineer you will specify, design, bring-up, test, and support a variety of different hardware platforms.

Key job responsibilities
Work with lead engineer on adding different sensor hardware to the main TV board for new features to be added to next gen FireTV. This engineer will tackle all aspects of schematic generation, BOM selection, working with ODM on layout and review, creating test plans and working with SW and other groups, etc.
