IT Support Engineers work with Amazon teams to provide and support the IT equipment and services they need. We treat Amazon employees as our customers and provide timely, accurate, and professional support. A successful IT Support Engineer II excel in a fast-paced, team environment and possesses excellent communication skills. They have a high degree of technical aptitude over a large scope of IT software, hardware, and networking disciplines.
Regular activities include:
- Windows/Mac/Linux OS deployment
- Providing remote tech support
- LAN troubleshooting and support
- Troubleshooting AV systems, particularly large or complex integrated systems


Key job responsibilities
- Work closely with our Network Engineering & Network Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth rollout of new designs and products.
- TCP/IP networking knowledge
- Broad understanding of infrastructure technologies
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
- Familiarity with common networking terms and fabric based network design.
- Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflow.
- Collaborate with various stake holders or vendors to execute projects.
- Troubleshooting cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
- Specifying Power and Cooling requirements and ensuring Hardware Racking/Stacking completed for new equipment
- Complete customer requests via trouble ticketing system and project management workflows.
- Deliver simple, sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes.
- Automate manual tasks; create/improve small tools that help make team operations more efficient.
- Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
- Troubleshoot difficult IT problems without SOPs.
- Plan and coordinate CMs and CM templates.
- Participate in hiring, training and development of others.
- Lead and Deliver projects.
- Good understanding of infrastructure technologies, including Routers, Switches, Load Balancers and Firewalls at the enterprise level.
