Job Description
Oracle has released more than 80 infrastructure services over the past 6 years. This is a unique opportunity to help developers, IT-Ops and other IT profiles to have a great experience on OCI, supporting adoption while contributing to open source code.
We are currently building automation for a wide range of solutions on OCI. We are automating everything from common backend frameworks like Ruby on Rails and Django to AI/ML solutions like Rosetta to computational fluid dynamics on HPC. There is plenty of opportunity to work with the technologies and solutions that you love.
Your job will be to show how OCI can be used by automating solutions using Terraform, Helm Charts, Ansible and building awesome sample apps. In addition to coding you also have the opportunity to write content such as tutorials, reference architectures and deliver workhops. You will get to work closely with product teams and will get early access to all the latest OCI services while providing early feedback.
You will be joining a small team with extremely skilled members that are very passionate about technology. The team is part of the corporate GTM organisation which means your work will have global impact.
Your day to day work would consist of:
- Building Terraform scripts and modules for a variety of solutions
- Building Ansible playbooks
- Building & optimising Helm Charts for Oracle Kubernetes Engine
- Writing tutorials & blogs
- Sharing you knowledge with the community at conferences and online
Here is what we expect from the ideal candidate:
- Hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability, Building Engineer or software engineering staff member
- Cloud platforms such as OCI, AWS, GCE, Azure, or similar
- Infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible and Terraform
- Strong scripting knowledge in Bash
- Proficient with containerization, orchestration and cluster management technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
- In-depth knowledge of CI/CD systems such as Jenkins
- Linux
- It’s a bonus if you have developed applications in one of the following languages: Ruby, Java, Python, GO or C#.
As a member of the product development division, you will specify, design and implement major changes to existing software architecture. Define project needs. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to ensure consistency, testability and portability across products in general.
Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.
