Job Description \: JAPAC BDG Communications Specialist

The Communications Specialist is responsible for driving communications within the business of 350 business development consultants and a group of 30 frontline and senior management team across 4 hubs – Kuala Lumpur, Beijing, Korea, and Tokyo.


This role reports to the Communications Leader of EMEA & JAPAC BDG and will play an important role in developing engaging content to inform and engage JAPAC colleagues about company news, policies and strategic priorities. The role will also focus on improving the brand of BDG both internally to our employees and externally to our stakeholders. The role requires a communication professional who has experience working with a variety of teams and functions to analyze communications needs and develop content and plans to deliver results. The ideal candidate can demonstrate the ability to manage senior stakeholders and effectively l
iaise across multiple lines of business.

 

Responsibilities\:

- Provide writing, editing and content management support for JAPAC BDG.

 

- Produce and administer monthly all staff newsletter including sourcing writing, editing, gaining approvals and then distributing/publishing to all of JAPAC BDG.

 

- Bolster the brand of BDG internally and externally through a number of different creative mediums, including video, photography, written content, etc.

 

- Support a variety of Internal Communications-related tools and processes, All Staff emails, Newsletter, Win Stories, Portal, Digital Screens, on demand Video Channel, so they are up to date and relevant.

 

- Provide assistance to develop content and materials for the Quarterly All Hands Meeting. 

- Support the ongoing expansion and enhancement of the existing communications vehicles – especially in digital/new media - to more effectively reach employees across the organization and build a more informed and engaged employee population.

 

- Collaborate with teams and functions to develop content and plans to help them reach their employees and communicate their news and priorities across JAPAC.

 

- Collaborate with external agency partners where needed to help communicate news and priorities as effectively as possible.

 

- Coordinate and administer the Communications calendar, ensuring communication initiatives are planned out in advance to ensure consistent and timely messaging.

 

- Conduct surveys and local focus groups, to assess employee communication needs and help develop plans and strategies based on results.

 

 

Required Skills/Experience\:

 

- Excellent grasp of the English language, grammar, & spelling

 

- Experience in communications, journalism, or related function with a concentration on internal Communications

 

- University degree desired

 

- Experience in an internal communications role

 

- Very strong writing and editing background with superb attention to detail

 

- Experience of working on large company-wide events

 

- Strong IT skills including basic HTML, Photoshop, Canva, video creation packages, and survey tools

   

- Corporate/organizational communications or agency experience preferred, including experience developing communications plans and strategies

 

- Ability to work with a variety of teams and functions to analyze communications needs and develop plans to deliver results

 

- Ability to think strategically and creatively

 

- Experience communicating online and through social media

Assist management with implementation of corporate and local campaign media plans. Apply corporate and local campaign advertising with assistance and guidance. Support efforts to integrate advertising into the marketing campaigns and across the communications mix. Maintain and communicate brand advertising in line with standard practices and procedures. Assist more senior team members with partner advertising. Measure advertising effectiveness.

Work involves some problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and procedures. Graduate or equivalent with 0 - 2 year experience. Basic knowledge of marketing techniques and company wide products. Developing experience and understanding through exposure to production, media buying and campaign involvement.!|!
