Join the Java Platform group and leverage expert Java product knowledge to deliver solutions based on customer requirements and contribute to the value of Oracle Java. We are looking for a talented and influential senior engineer to enhance our leadership in high-touch support of the Java platform. Working with Java Product Teams, Support, Sales and Marketing groups, and external partners is an essential part of the job. You will represent our Java Subscription customers while working on their Java Enhanced Services engagements.  Contribute to product direction through regular interactions with Java Product Teams.

Duties and responsibilities include working with customer enterprise applications that have requirements related to deployment and configuration of Java security technologies. Customers may require Java security technologies presentations and training relative to their business needs, as well as recommended direction and best practices. In this role you will be expected to engage with senior customer security representatives and work with JPG Security experts to reach an appropriate resolution.

Preferred Qualifications:

7-10 years relevant experience in Java based enterprise technical solution delivery including 4 years of consulting experience

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related degree

Significant Java SE experience in performance tuning scenarios

Significant API knowledge, experience with enterprise applications both On-Prem and in the Cloud

Skilled in languages including Java, C/C++

Strong customer facing experience working with both IT and Support contacts

Strong English verbal and written communication skills
Ability represent complex ideas and topics to multiple audiences

Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate in a professional manner
Working knowledge of project management methodologies and documentation
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Project, Visio, PowerPoint and Word

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
