Job Description

Oracle Communications Applications Global Business Unit (CAGBU) represents Oracle in the communications industry. Oracle CAGBU is responsible for the development, marketing, sales and consulting for Oracle Communications specific products, and leads Oracle’s strategy in the communications industry. The Oracle Communications portfolio covers the following products:

  •  Billing & Revenue Management
  •  Order & Service Management
  •  Inventory Management
  •  Service Activation
  •  Configuration Management
  •  Network Charging and Control

 

We seek an individual to take ownership of the project management activities in CAGBU Consulting EMEA. Consultants within the Communications Consulting EMEA practice are highly skilled Project/Programme Managers with a proven track record in delivering innovative cloud and on-premise solutions to enable full business benefits realization, for major accounts.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Support project management administration activities within the EMEA project management practice as well as on dedicated client projects
  • Support financial management processes for the project portfolio (revenue, cost, margin forecasting)
  • Support sales and pre-sales process activities
  • Support project documentation including working with team leads for project reporting
  • Plan and facilitate project meetings
  • Support Programme and Project Managers on their day-to-day tasks, such as planning, reporting, forecasting etc.
  • Manage projects for smaller customer accounts, as well as internal projects
  • Take responsibility on project reporting and other administration related to project management.

 

Expected qualification:

  • Telecom and IT background, preferably in SI and/or Consulting environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills a must, whilst operating at senior levels internally and externally.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and provide leadership.
  • Logical approach to problem solving and excellent eye for detail.
  • Proven track record of meeting project timeliness/deliverables and attention to detail, process, deadlines and quality results.
  • Proven track record of working with virtual teams of different cultures establishing distributed delivery
  • Demonstrated success with customers during initiative assessment, project planning and implementation.

 

Required education and experience:

  • 5 years of experience relevant to this position including 3 years of project management experience in the delivery of international projects
  • Project Management Qualifications, e.g. PRINCE2, PMI, etc.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role, preferably with a software professional services organization or consulting background
  • Exposure to international project delivery.
  • Understanding of the cloud paradigm and cloud delivery in a plus.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

 

 

As a member of the Consulting organization, you are responsible for ensuring that a quality, integrated software solution is delivered in a timely manner, at budget, and to our client*s satisfaction. This involves working closely with the client to understand and manage their expectations, as well as working closely with Oracle and third-party vendors to ensure delivery.

Create and manage an overall project plan (including budget, structure, schedule, and staffing needs) for one or more Oracle engagements. Monitor and report progress/changes against the plan. Drive implementation by providing motivation and direction.

Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. A BS or BA in related fields. 3 - 6 years overall experience in functional or technical role.
