RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service 
•    Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
•    Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
•    Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions
•    Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods
•    Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
•    Other duties as assigned

All duties will be performed in accordance with The Fairmont Empress’ commitment to luxury service standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

•       A minimum of one (1) year recent experience (in the last five years) in a food and beverage related position in a quality establishment
•      Serving It Right and Food Safe certificates
•      Excellent organizational skills and ability to thrive in a busy environment 
•      A team player with proven success in relationship building 
•      A commitment to provide excellent service and exceeding expectations
•      Completely fluent English language skills, both written and verbal
•      Strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude
•      Professional and impeccable grooming and presentation
•      Barista knowledge would be an asset
•      Physical ability to perform the requirements of the job, including:

• Standing/walking for extended periods of time
•  Performing repetitive work
• Lifting and carrying full trays

NOTE:  The position of Junior Server is physically demanding. The successful applicant must be physically capable of performing repetitive work, standing and walking for long periods of time, as well as lifting and carrying a full tray long distances.
