Your Role and Responsibilities

General Purpose:
IBM is looking for a self-driven procurement professional, English language knowledge to support an external client
 
Responsible for executing category strategy and managing the contractual commitments for the Facility Management category. Sub categories include. Facilities Services – Café, Security, Furniture, Real Estate, Design and Construction, Utilities and Energy, Engineering and Environmental Services. This role will report to a people manager within Procurement Services organization, with business direction provided by a Sourcing Manager responsible to the account. Requires the ability to conduct market analysis, including market drivers, supplier profiles and relative negotiating positions and create and consult on Category management and strategies. Expected travel: approximately 1-2 days a week in first months then will taper as required

Main Responsibility Areas:
  • Provide category support as assigned by the Client Sourcing Consultant and Category Strategy Leader
  • Owns primary responsibility to achieve client success against all contractual commitments at a category level
  • Responsible to understand category deliverables, savings commitments, milestones and obligations, and establish a project plan to meet each – ensure interlock with DPE on account on reporting and status
  • Develop integrated (tactical and strategic) category sourcing strategy which delivers short term savings and drives category transformation through time
  • Provide category leadership and direction to Category Buyers
  • Responsible for on- going category management activities driving supplier performance, demand management savings, and increasing category compliance and support additional rollout of countries in scope for the account including education (will include travel) to new stakeholders
  • Communicate and negotiate with clients and suppliers through all levels of organization, primary interface to key category client stakeholders
  • Support business opportunity to expand scope, work with Sales enablement teams to advise on delivery model and approach

  • Fluent English skills (both verbal and written)

  • Demonstrated Negotiation skills and expertise
  • Supplier relationship management expertise
  • Strong communication skills , presentation

Experience Required:
at least 3 years’ Strategic Buyer-Category Management experience is required in Procurement, must have Facilitity Management experience
 

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

IT skills, such as Lotus Notes, MS Office, Outlook, Ariba, SAP, etc.
