Your Role and Responsibilities

As the manager of the CIO ServiceNow Insights team, you will lead a team of Data/Computer Scientists and Data Engineers in the IBM CIO Office.  Your team transforms data into tangible business value by wrangling, organizing, and analyzing IBM CIO ServiceNow Data combined with other data sources to communicate deep insights.  Leveraging our corporate data using IBM Watson and open source tools, your team will be a key player in the transformation to a Cognitive Enterprise.

In the IBM CIO office, our mission is to create a productive environment and continuously improve the work experience for hundreds of thousands of IBM employees.  
 
The Insights Lab team in the CIO office is furthering the mission of creating a productive environment by turning terabytes of data into deep insights and understanding.   We are performing analytics on very disparate data and mixing the results together to learn incredible new things.  Things that will help our employees make faster more insightful decisions and automate using AI.  We use a combination of analytics and artificial intelligence tools embedded in software products blended with our own analytics and artificial intelligence using IBM Watson products.   
 
We are looking for a technical leader with data science and computer science skills to lead our small team of worldwide engineers, scientist, and IT leaders.  Together we will build strategies based on our data analytics that will deliver artificial intelligence solutions used by thousands of employees every day.
 
 
About you:

• You are an experienced and curious technical leader that has a firm grasp of data science with experience deploying scalable AI solutions   
• You have a strong understanding of general computer science with the focus on cloud computing
• You are comfortable leading a team that does not have one fixed mission but looks at the big picture and navigates their own course by way of Design Thinking to provide IBM users with solutions they did not know they needed or may never know are there
• You are a servant leader that puts your team first
• Your leadership style needs to focus on letting your team set the direction but execute and lead from behind  
• You have an equal part in defining the team's direction as any one of the team members
• You should be very comfortable with data science topics, AI, and be able to perform foundational data science work and have a coding background
• You should be able to act as a people manager and technical leader
• You are able to adapt and lead in a fluid environment

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• A minimum of 4 plus years’ experience as people manager
• Computer Science and/or Data Science degree with a history of successfully delivered products
• Servant leadership, problem solving, negotiation, teamwork and collaboration skills
