Job summary
Our Talent Development team is seeking a Learning Manager that owns the program management and execution of new hire onboarding, employee development, and other employee life-cycle learning programs. This individual contributor role located in Beijing, China, supports the Compliance Operations team as they keep customers, partners, and associates safe and ensure legal and regulatory compliance. In this dynamic and challenging role, you will work closely to a highly educated, diverse, and skilled workforce that strives for best in class quality results and on-going career development.

We are seeking a team player who not only uses his/her/they own ability to respond effectively to a variety of training scenarios, but is able to work closely with the central talent development team to effectively measure, prioritize, and deploy training programs based on customer and business need. This individual must be self-driven and have the capability and confidence to interface effectively with senior leaders and multiple stakeholders both face to face, and across geographies. In addition to have the necessary soft skills required for the job, they must also be analytical and data driven in their problem-solving approach. This role is essential to the growth and success of Amazon and our team members, from associates to senior leaders.

Key job responsibilities
* Program manage new hire training, cross-skill training, upskill training and need based refreshers

* Monitor associate performance post completion of training to measure performance consistency

* Root cause performance gaps and provide recommendations and mitigation plans not limited to training

* Communicate associate performance data and insights to key stakeholders using dashboards and other reporting mechanisms

* Collaborate with quality and learning business partners to implement training and identify future learning needs

* Partner with HR and Talent Acquisition teams to execute a positive associate onboarding experience

* Ensure associates are hired, trained and delivered to Operations within program timelines

* Develop train the trainer programs for certification of associate trainers, mentors and coaches who support employee development

* Audit performance of trainers, mentors and coaches, and provide regular feedback and coaching for their development

* Facilitate in person and virtual sessions based on organization and business requirements from associate level audiences to senior managers

A day in the life
A typical day involves one of three bodies of work: 1) full cycle execution of training programs (pre, during, post), 2) reporting and ongoing assessment of existing associates, and 3) participation in projects with the central talent development team or program leaders. One day you will host meetings confirming trainer and support readiness of programs which includes meeting with stakeholder teams to understand hiring forecasts for the month and quarter. Once programs are in flight, you are reviewing metrics for those programs, performing deep dives to root cause, and capturing insights in narratives. You present your finding to senior leaders and stakeholders as you align on mitigation plans. Another day, you meet with the global onboarding team to evaluate and update training inventory and delivery strategy to improve and create a consistent learning experience globally.
