Job Description

Are you interested in building large-scale distributed infrastructure for the cloud? Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure team is building new Infrastructure-as-a-Service technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with best in class cloud services.

 

We are looking for a Manager of Customer Enagement to help us push the boundaries of what can be accomplished in both current and the next generation of Oracle Cloud services. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing a team of engagement managers and will be responsible for the teams operating and planning rhythm and activities to ensure the team delivers programs and outcomes that improve the customer experience. You will work closely with engineering teams and other ops and support teams to deliver a portfolio of programs and projects that impact both short and long term strategic planning objectives. As a leading member of our highly collaborative and motivated team, you will own the creation of effective reporting mechanisms, streamlining of internal processes and be responsible to deliver both operational efficiencies and executive level program reporting

In this role, you will: Establish, maintain and enforce the rhythm of the business activities for the organization. 
 
  • Drive alignment and execution of high visibility cross functional initiatives.
  • Build project management discipline and maturity in the organization across all roles to develop plans, define scope, and manage schedule and resources for complex initiatives, prioritizing based on business needs as the business evolves.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in response to changing or ambiguous situations, directing changes through appropriate review and approval mechanisms.
  • Develop and manage short and long term program roadmaps, prioritizing based on business need.
  • Own, improve and be responsible for the quality of org wide processes including roadmap planning, talent review and goal setting across the org. 
Own org structure, headcount planning, recruiting targets and performance management. 
 
Qualifications
We need people with dynamic and diverse skill-sets and a variety of the capabilities listed below:
 
  • BS/BA or MS degree orequivalent experience relevant to functional area, with at least with 3+ years of professional experience supporting development and/or operations in a technology environment, including program management and cross functional leadership.
  • Ability to influence key decision makers outside the direct management chain, including strong interpersonal and conflict resolution kills in order to drive organizational alignment and efficiency. 
  • Demonstrated technical background to drive SDLC and technical projects. Experience leading teams in agile / SCRUM practices. 
  • Influence others' ability to see and articulate the big picture.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office / Atlassian tools (JIRA / Confluence).
  • Outstanding proactive communication skills for written and verbal communications, as well as presentations, speaking in front of groups and facilitating meetings.
  • Ability to effectively train and teach others new information and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and consulting skills to build trust and credibility.
  • DevOps experience, previous Release Management, Business Analysis, Systems 
  • Administration, Tech Support, QA, and/or Software Development experience is preferred.
Manage a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a manager in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Leads a specialized area which may have diverse functional elements. Frequently interacts with supervisors and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 1 year of software engineering or related experience.
