Job Description

PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANISATION:

To manage the logistics category, includes inbound/outbound freight, logistics services, warehousing equipment and services, packaging material for transportation, etc. The scope covers adidas retail and franchise store, offices and distribution centers. Individual contributor to establish high compliance sourcing processes. Develop compliant and dependable supply base to support company’s 2020 retail expansion strategy.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Planning

  • Define logistic purchasing strategy and objectives
  • Set goals and develop action plans for continuous improvement of Retail Supply process and performance

Management

  • Enforce policies and processes applicable to non-trade purchases
  • Manage purchasing process from source to contract
  • Lead regional and local tenders for logistics category
  • Work with business owners in vendor selection and negotiations (price and other terms)
  • Support development of non-standard vendor contracts
  • Review Specification and contribute in value engineering and process improvement
  • Vendor performance evaluation and manage relationship with key vendors
  • Keep up to date with market trends, prices and developments

Financial

  • Carry out systematic review on cost effectiveness and quality of non-trade purchasing
  • Ensure transparency and openness in vendor bidding process, selection and evaluation
  • Assess financial stability and risk of potential vendors

Systems and Processes

  • Develop and strengthen non-trade process and policies including vendor bidding and assessment, vendor performance evaluation etc
  • Develop systematic processes for vendor updates and evaluations
  • Implement new vendor management and negotiation tool for better cost management and performance
  • Supervise and ensure procure to pay process

People Management

  • Work with peers and be a great team player

Training

  • Serve as topic specialists for internal training needs on price negotiation
  • Continuous learning about latest market practice and trend

Others

  • High integrity and be leading by example

  • Cost savings on non-trade purchases

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Professional Background/ Experience

  • Minimum 5-7 years experiences in Non-Trade capex purchasing management positions, ideally in consumer goods or apparel industry with management experience
  • strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Impeccable integrity
  • Business understanding

Education

  • Bachelor degree or above
  • Engineering / QS background is preferred

IT Skills

  • Strong Excel skills
  • Powerpoint
  • Auto CAD will be a plus
  • Understand Oracle or SAP system

Language

  • Fluent English and Mandarin required
