Job Description

Reporting to the Manager, Visitor Promotion, the job-holder's main duties include:

  • To devise and execute global buyer recruitment strategies for local trade fairs so as to augment visitor quantity and quality
  • To formulate and promote buyer incentive programmes in view of each and every fair’s market foci, exhibitor profile and industry needs
  • To coordinate with overseas branch offices, consultants, agents and multipliers, etc. for buying group formation and VIP buyer recruitment as well as buyer servicing
  • To research on potential new overseas and local partners and develop collaborations which bring in new buyer segments
  • To carry out diverse below-the-line promotions to publicise fair information and buyer benefits
  • To manage pre-fair and onsite operations pertaining to buyers’ travel to HK and business activities at the fairs
  • To enhance buyer visit experience through implementation of value-added services
  • To collect market intelligence and feedback from buyers and to understand the competitive landscape of similar industry events

Requirements:

  • A recognised university degree with at least 3 years’ solid working experience, preferably with sizable organisations, in any of the following areas: sales and marketing; trading; exhibition/event organisation; project management; public/corporate relations; or network/relationship building, etc.
  • Strong inclination and understanding of Hong Kong’s economy, trade and business arena covering various Hong Kong industries, and markets and business opportunities for Hong Kong companies
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua; knowledge of a third language will be an advantage
  • Superior skills in sales/marketing and communications
  • A strong team player with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and outgoing character
  • Detail-minded with good project planning ability
  • Innovative, flexible and be able to deliver under time and resource pressure
  • Willing to work during weekends and public holidays on need basis
  • Appreciative of working with people from different cultures

Remuneration and Benefits:

The successful candidate will be appointed on a fixed-term contract basis, renewable subject to operational needs. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
