We are looking to hire for the role of Master Principal Sales Consultant to join our newly created Customer Technology (CT) Strategy and Value Consulting team. As part of the Solution Consulting team this role will work closely with three groups focused on front and back-office customer business areas to include customer, billing, metering, and field operations:
- The field sales team to help deepen and extend sales relationships with customers by working directly with prospects in understanding business needs, conducting face to face engagements to get business and technical layout in advance of any procurement activities, and translate business vision and challenge to an application roadmap that can be used in follow-up activities
- Presales and system integrators to transmit any information gathered into a meaningful engagement during demo or RFP activity
- Go-To Market and marketing: By feeding information gathered about the market and industry into future sales campaigns and messaging as well as product roadmap
The consultant will bring deep industry knowledge through exposure to multiple industry solutions, service types (gas, water, and electric experience preferred) as well as regulated and deregulated market experience, and applications, industry relationships through conference attendance and independent relationships with utility clients, and extensive knowledge of Oracle utilities solutions to drive complex deals to a successful result for Oracle.
Responsibilities and requirements
- Bachelor's degree (advanced degree highly desirable) with minimum 15 years' experience in the energy and utilities industry, preferably with vendor and business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools
- Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Provision of support throughout the sales process
- Responsible as the expert for formulating and leading solution engineering and sales support for prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants
- Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions
- Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and supports demonstrations performed by the Pre-Sales team
- Provides solution guidance to the overall sales effort. Advises internal and external clients on overall architected solution
- Acknowledged authority within the Corporation. Acts as a leader of large-scale company initiatives. Viewed by peers as a leader and top contributor and by line management as a key business partner
- Ability to speak to, understand the process of implementation, and customer ability to implement the most advanced product features
- Thorough knowledge of system and application design. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills; needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques
- Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication
As a Master Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.

Viewed by peers as a leader and top contributor and by line management as a key business partner. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. BA/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
