Job Description

The Westpac Banking Corporation (WBC) Group has undertaken transformational program to procure and implement a new banking platform. Customer Service Hub (CSH) Program is divided into 3 phases. The first phase, to be delivered over 4 years (2016 – 2020), is anticipated to transform the Bank’s Home Owns program within Westpac and its subsidiary St George Bank. Release 2 (2018 – 2021), will extend upon that. And Release 3, (2021 ) is anticipated to modernise and consolidate core systems.

Oracle are providing software, hardware, services and ongoing managed services.

A Master Services Agreement (MSA) was executed with WBC in December 2016. The MSA includes several complex and onerous conditions, particularly around WBC policy compliance, volume discounts, target timelines and holdbacks. Order Documents are negotiated for 6 month terms.      

 

 

Roles & Responsibilities\:

1. Lead or participate as Functional team member in Development or Implementation or Managed Service activity streams such as parameterization, test execution, defect tracking and coordination with other Oracle teams at client locations or offshore teams for various activities.

2. Document / review Requirement Specifications Documents

3. Analyse business requirements, participate in functional design and document / review Functional Specification documents.

4. Travel as required to client locations onsite (within and outside of India) on need basis for implementations and participate in product walkthrough and POC workshops;

5. During implementations, work with all onsite stakeholders and client personnel to ensure project success.

6. Use defined standards/tools/processes to achieve deliverables that meet quality expectations of Oracle / client.

7. Document all work in accordance with agreed standards/processes applicable for Oracle / Customer.

8. Adhere to defined Change Control Process of Oracle / Customer.  Comply with Oracle / Customer audit / Compliance requirements.

9. Perform proper handover / knowledge transfer at end of each assignment.

10. Timely status reporting to supervisor.

11. Timely submission of timesheets for Oracle / clients.

Desired Skills & Experience

Primary Skills

 

  • Should have thorough functional knowledge of Oracle Banking Platform.
  • Ability to interact and communicate with client Business Teams independently
  • Analyze solution approaches, estimations, best practices, project risks and recommendations.
  • Ability to understand client requirements and map them to ‘off-the-shelf’ products or product features to decide whether they would be more suitable than building a new system from scratch.
  • Participate and lead, when needed, the project meetings and Product-Walkthrough workshops with the Customer.
  • Excellent analytical, presentation and communications skills, proven ability to translate business requirements into technology specifications.
  • Excellent knowledge of banking terminologies, concepts and processes
  • IT skills including Microsoft Office
  • Good communication & documentation skills in English

 

 

Experience

  • Experience of 4 to 9 years with atleast 2 years in primary skill areas
  • Experience in implementation and / or support of core banking applications

Educational and Other Qualifications

  • Should hold atleast a Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent degree

Work Environment

  • Should be willing to work at offshore as well as travel to client locations for short, medium or long duration assignments
  • Should be willing to work in shifts
  • Ability to work in a high pressure, fast moving and challenging environment

Works directly with Consulting sales to analyze customer business needs.

Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques to design non-routine and complex business solutions utilizing Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs. Influences customer leadership in acceptance of Oracle solutions and services to facilitate the closing of consulting deals. Contributes to statements of work, work breakdown structures and/or level of effort and staff plans. Presents and demonstrates solutions to customers. Builds and maintains a network and up-to-date specific industry or product knowledge. Responsible for transitioning deal knowledge to implementation team. Leads the domain specific solution design aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality and integrated business solutions. Anticipates project risks and suggest risk mitigation to project manager. Resolves complex customer issues by recommending solutions. Demonstrates expertise in multiple business processes across two or more product families or ability to architect and design technology solutions encompassing multiple products.

8-10 years of relevant experience including 4 years of consulting experience. Prior team lead or manager experience. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Broad product, technology or industry expertise. Ability to craft and articulate strategic solutions. In-depth knowledge of implementation methodologies and best practices. Knowledge of competitive & partner products, technology and solutions. Ability to travel as needed.!|!
