Oracle's Global
Licensing and Advisory Services (GLAS) is an organization that provides
customers and partners with the most up-to-date knowledge, best practices and
insights to manage and optimize our customer’s Oracle license investment.
Role
Responsible to coordinate the activities of defining, designing,
testing, implementing and modifying GLAS tools and internal systems, which
serve the following activities\: measurement of Oracle programs usage, data
reporting, account intelligence, internal data management for Oracle Customers
and Partners
Coordinates the activities of maintaining and enhancing the
existing and new GLAS applications and tools.
Scope

Works for the Software Development team

Supports GLAS teams & Oracle customers

Reports to the Software Development Manager
·
Works with Project Managers and Global Process
Owners within GLAS Global Operations Team to define the scope and
specifications of the developed applications and tools
·
Provides these services remotely
Responsibilities
·
Collaborates with the GLAS global teams and
other LOBs for improving and maintaining the software systems, applications and
tools used to identify and solve under-licensing risks / issues
·
Creates computer programs in line with
predefined specifications and adheres to team standards, tests them to ensure
requirements are met, and implements them
·
Validates installations, configuration and
accurate functioning of developed software applications in accordance with GLAS
internal standards and procedures
·
Develops,
improves and maintains the GLAS tools and processes
· Builds code and unit tests for highly complex programs
· Performs code reviews of complex programs
· Performs as a technical lead for projects of medium to high complexity
· Designs change plans to existing software architecture
· Designs architectures for product/parts of a product
· Keeps records according to internal procedures and
provides regular updates on the activity to the direct Manager

Acts as a
technical expert on GLAS tools, applications, and systems
·
Conducts
research, presents, validates and tests enhancements
·
Uses individual knowledge and skills to build team knowledge and develop
team members
·

Qualifications
·
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics,
Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Social
Sciences, or extensive experience and proven record of career in identical role
·
5-8 years’ experience in IT &C Industry, Software Development,
Customer Relations experience is preferred
Required Competencies

Extensive SQL and PL/SQL programming experience
·
Relational database modeling - strong ability to
understand, update and create database models
·
Unix/Linux scripting and Windows batch
programming
·
SQL*Plus scripting
·
Experience in processing and loading into the
database XML and CSV files
·
Good knowledge of the Oracle database server
architecture
·
Basic knowledge of SQL Tuning
·
Strong understanding of computer and network
architectures
·
Good documentation skills
·
Microsoft
Word, Excel, Adobe advanced knowledge
·
Basic knowledge of Project Management
·
Complex problem-solving and decision-making

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
