Do you enjoy applying your software engineering skills to complex application security tools?  We are looking for a graduate software engineer to extend and complement the current strengths in a Tools development group at Oracle. The successful candidate will be experienced with either program analysis, compilers, and/or web application security, and have development experience in the C++ and/or Java language.

As a member of our team you will work with other team members to further develop an in-house static code analysis tool to support new languages and new vulnerability types, as well as enhance existing analyses and language support. You will be collaborating with the development engineers based in Australia (AEST). 

Qualifications & Skills

• 2021 Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related disciplines
• Eligibility to work in Australia without sponsorship is essential (Australian Citizen, PR or other)
• Up to 12 months of industry experience preferred (strong internship experience or job experience)
• Excellent programming skills in C++ and/or Java required
• Solid conceptual knowledge (e.g., data structures, programming languages design, distributed systems etc) and practical skills for writing efficient code 
• Knowledge of build automation for Java (e.g. Maven, Gradle) and C/C++ (e.g. autoconf, cmake)
• Demonstrable experience in at least one of the following: program analysis, compilers or web application security

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will use basic knowledge of software architecture to perform tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture.

Work involves some problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. Gaining competence in own area and acquiring a higher level understanding of role, processes and procedures. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 0-2 years of previous software engineering or related experience.
