As a Principal Sales Consultant you will lead assigned customer engagements to formulate key strategies/goals for improving business efficiencies using a consultative approach for Information Management strategy. This will include assessing the organization’s business process maturity, gaps and recommending improvements to meet the business goals aligned with the capabilities of Oracle’s technology portfolio. In this role you will be responsible for working closely with Oracle Sales to develop new business as well as to position Oracle Solutions to solve complex problems within the U.S. State and Local market with an emphasis on solutions based on Oracle Public Cloud Services. You will serve as the primary point of contact for Oracle technology solutions including Oracle Database, Oracle Exadata, Oracle Fusion Middleware, and Oracle’s IaaS and PaaS Cloud solutions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10 years of experience in consulting/design/implementation with Oracle Data Management technologies like\: Infrastructure, Database, Data Security
- 7 years of experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking
- BS in Computer Science or Information Management or equivalent experience.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to travel as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the Cloud
- Certifications and familiarity with common enterprise services from Oracle as well as competitors (i.e., Microsoft, IBM, SAP, AWS, Google Cloud)
- Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives (up to C-level), IT Management, and developers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as event presentation on-site and via remote digital technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.

As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills\: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
