Process Automation System Support Technician/Specialist–Siemens-Emerson-Rockwell
We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Process Automation System Support Technician in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu.
The Process Automation System Support Technician is responsible for activities relating to the support of Siemens PCS7, TIA, Emerson DeltaV and other process control systems (Rockwell Allen Bradley) within China and will leveraged for global support as needed.
The key objective of this role is to implement highly reliable procedures and routines to ensure sustained operation with the goal of zero system failures or outages, minimize plant downtime caused by process automation system failures, while providing services that are cost effective and sustainable. The individual will Must have an overall knowledge of all current process control system hardware and software, and provide knowledgeable advice to others within the site.
The Process Automation System Support Technician is expected to provide the necessary services on a Monday through-Friday basis with an agreed upon arrangement for providing after-hour support as well (7x24).
Key job responsibilities:
- Responsible for the care and troubleshooting of the process control systems associated hardware and software, but not applications.
- Provide corrective support in response to a control system error condition or failure as the first point of escalation from the plant.
- Perform predictive and preventative maintenance (PPM) and health checks on operating control system hardware.
- Initiate portions of a software upgrades that cannot be done remotely under the direction of a Dow Process Automation subject matter expert.
- Understand and follow all identified Dow Process Automation work processes, such as Problem Resolution & Request Management, S&OP Case entry, ES Asset database updates, etc.
- Complete small project work.
- Track and redeploy assets.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to plant control system focal points as well as other site support resources.
- Interface with Plant Process Control Coordinators (PPCC) on troubleshooting and upgrades.
- Assist in small extensions on the Plant Process Control Systems.
- Monitoring of DCS system diagnostics aligned with PPCC.
- Participate in risk assessment when activities to the Control System are required.
- Escalation to additional support resources and follow-up as necessary.
- Experience programming and troubleshooting DCS such as ABB or PLCs
- Understand and follow EMETL Practices.
- Develop a complete overall understanding of the process automation system and legacy/obsolescent control system
Qualifications
- 5 years’ experience in process automation with related technical knowledge
