The Compliance & Ethics (“C&E”) team helps Oracle ensure that its business is conducted in accordance with internal policy and applicable law.
The EMEA Compliance and Ethics team is seeking to hire a junior paralegal based in Romania to provide support for Oracle’s C&E program across the EMEA region. In this role, you will respond to requests routed to the C&E team, assist with data analytics, train and guide Oracle employees and business partners, help implement partner and supplier due diligence guidelines and support internal inquiries and investigations.
This role is ideally suited for a junior paralegal seeking experience in a multi-national environment and the opportunity to develop legal, organizational and communication skills while working with experienced lawyers across multiple jurisdictions.
This role will be reporting into Oracle’s EMEA Deputy Regional Compliance Office and will also work closely with the other C&E counsel based throughout the region.
Responsibilities:
Approvals
Serve as an escalation point to ensure compliance with Oracle policy regarding approvals for business courtesies, including meals and events, possible conflicts of interest and other business approvals required as per policy.
Training & Communication
Support C&E counsel to develop, implement and execute an annual live training curriculum and deliver communications to ensure that Oracle employees as well as distribution partners are aware of Oracle’s Code of Ethics & Business Conduct, Global Anti-Corruption Policy and relevant laws.
Investigations & Remediation
Support and collaborate with C&E counsel to record and track progress of investigations
Monitoring
Use investigation metrics to identify trends and establish common standards and propagate best practices.
Qualifications:
· Integrity and commitment to the highest ethical standards and personal values.
· Undergraduate and legal degrees from top institutions, 1- 3 years post qualification experience
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
· Fluency in English, written and oral. Additional languages skills preferred
· Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work to meet business requirements.
· A high level of passion, self-motivation, responsiveness and adaptability.
· Experience in the technology industry as well as previous experience in compliance preferred.
Provides paralegal support to one of the Legal Department’s specialty practice groups.Drafts legal agreements, correspondence and other legal documents. Proficient in a specific area of law. Responds to legal inquiries. Performs legal research and legal filings. Other various projects as assigned.
Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. Computer proficient. Has strong management, research and organizational skills and is detail oriented. Strong written and verbal communication skills. BA/BS degree or related experience and 2 - 5 years relevant legal experience. Paralegal certificate preferred.
