Newton Kindergartens are the frontier kindergartens in Eastern China, serving both the domestic and international market with two individual programs. Newton’s student body consists of 2-6 year old children from all over the world. The Newton group has 4 branches in Suzhou and Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu province and a staff of more than 180 individuals.

We are looking for a school principal at the ZhangJiaGang (ZJG) branch. Newton International Kindergarten provides excellent professional growth opportunities for foreign teachers in Suzhou and ZJG. Due to their proximity to Shanghai, a metropolis in eastern China, Suzhou and ZJG are among the most developed cities in China with scenic views and an international perspective.

Basic qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in Education/Early Childhood Education with demonstrated excellence and professionalism in your specialty

• Native English speaker

• 5 years of post-graduation experience
• 5 years of experience working with children age 0-6
• Professionally engaged in the teaching and childcare profession

• Energetic, outgoing and independent, as well as an effective team player
• Timely and trustworthy

• Having a service friendly can-do attitude towards supervisors and parent group

• Adhering to all rules & regulations

Job Duties

Safety

1 .Have a basic understanding of the staff, their health and their family. The staff did not commit crimes or has other bad record. Employee emotional stable and there is no attack behavior or hatred psychology of society.

2. Have basic understanding of the students and their families. Ensure that the kindergarten can respond to individual students or their family’s special situation and needs.

3. Develop and supervise entrance and exit safety rules.

4. Ensure adherence of school bus operation to the state and Newton kindergarten’s rules and regulations.

5. Develop and implement safety requirements, ensure that one day take three patrols in campus, timely discovery and fix Potential safety hazard.

6. Maintain confidential information of staff and students' information.

7. Implement and supervise the facility and equipment’s maintenance.

Environment

1. Maintain and refresh the environment, including plants and trees.

2. Implement and supervise different requirements towards environment, decoration and student’s care change according to different season, temperature or air quality.

Human resource

1. Track and assess staff’s professional ethics and adherence to the rules according to employee handbook.

2. Take charge of rewards and punishments. Approve leave matters.

3. Take charge of employee promotion, demotion, transaction, discharge, approve employee resign.

4. Promote the interaction and communication between staff; resolve disputes and conflicts between staff.

5. Fully support and assist Newton group team work activities.

6. Organize team work activities. Promote the team spirit.

7. Check weather student files are organized, complete up to date and confidential.

Enrollment and promotion

1. Control and supervise the enrollment.

2. Control and supervise withdraw.

3. Maintain students number and run for a higher number possible.

4. Promote ZhangJiaGang (ZJG) city campus’s image and pass up to date information through web site and other media.

5. Responsible for maintaining ZJG campus's excellent reputation.

Financial management

1. Update fee structure from time to time and report to the board of directors for approval.

2. Responsible for all kinds of fee collection.

3. Be aware of purchase needs.

Meals

1. Be aware of staff and parents’ complains and suggestions about meals.

2. Set standards to meals management.

Emergency and unexpected situation

1. Deal with infectious diseases, children’ injury and other emergency situations.

2. Deal with parents’ complains and suggestions.

3. Deal with unexpected situations such as extreme weather, air pollution and so on.

4. Make contingency plans.

5. Make fair drill, escape drill plan and enforce and supervise implementation.

Teaching management

1. Responsible to hire foreigner teachers.

2. Responsible for English curriculum development and implementation.

3. Quality-control and improve English teachers teaching quality.

4. Responsible for the planning and implementation of school-sponsored events.

Public relation

1. Create good relationship and cooperation with other newton campus.

2. Interaction with neighbors and community.

Events

1. Plan school-sponsored events.

2. Make and control event budget.

3. Responsible for event rehearsal and final inspection.

4. Evaluate the result of the event and summary what have been learned and what need to be improved.

5. Control the quality of enrichment classes.

Meetings

1. Hold meetings regularly.

2. Call meetings when it is necessary.

3. Responsible for communication with the Newton board and completion of monthly work report.

Administrative work of the whole semester

• Develop semester big events calendar, general kindergarten routines calendar; Implement work according to the plan. Finish work on time.

• Plan how ZJG campus should develop in 2 to 3 year and show staff a clear direction.
• Plan and implement the preparation and completion of each beginning and end of school year.

Benefits

• Salary: 30-40K RMB per year (pre-tax)

• A two-year contract is required- Transportation: annual reimbursement up to 15,000RMB for airfare

• Bonus: 27,000 RMB (after-tax) upon completing the two-year contract

• Paid leave: 18-day (first year) or 23-day (2nd year) besides national holidays (including sick-leave or personal leave)
