Principal Consultant – Primavera Unifier and P6

JAPAC remit

 

The Oracle Construction & Engineering Global Business Unit (CEGBU) encompasses the industry’s most advanced solutions for planning, building and operating assets, partnering with leading organisations globally.

 

This role will report to the Senior Practice Director for ANZ and ASIA.  The Primavera Consultant will support all CEGBU customers  and solutions with detailed project delivery, cost management, schedule and planning services in accordance with their procedures.  The responsibility includes software implementation, training, data migration and setup, coordination of different roles, and process and procedure documentation. 

 

Primary responsibilities include:

Product Implementation – Focus on Primavera Unifier, Primavera Cloud and P6

Work with clients to develop project specific configurations 

Manage and assist key project participants with the implementation of the product 

Identify and analyse client and project needs to tailor solutions

 

Project Delivery Consulting

Provide independent, impartial, specialist advice on the full scope of construction and project cost management throughout the life cycle of projects

Assist with planning, development, and implementation of Primavera Unifier and P6 applications

Ensure that all project delivery, contract, cost management activities, budgets and forecasts comply with company and client requirements

Work with the client’s project managers, cost engineers, estimators, and schedulers in the implementation and management of project delivery, contract and cost standards and commercial procedures

Provide project delivery, contract and cost management support to the project teams 

Process Consulting

Combine knowledge of industry processes with expertise in Primavera Unifier and P6 to provide best practice advice to clients 

Facilitate workshops and process discussions with customers, both in groups and on a one-to-one basis

Facilitate meetings with project owners and key consultants to drive ongoing improvements in the use of Primavera applications

Facilitate new feature discussions to help clients apply system upgrades to their processes

 

Client Relationship Management/ Customer Service

Maintain active relationships with key clients

Respond to customer enquiries, system related queries and provide technical support and case management of issues

Utilise comprehensive knowledge of the Primavera applications in order to troubleshoot and consult effectively

Gather feedback from customers about the Primavera applications in order to provide input into product development

Work closely with the Customer Service, Sales and Account Management teams nationally to drive and support change and adoption within key client accounts

Follow and execute customer service procedures

Proactively provide input into customer service strategy, procedures and direction.

Provide advice to clients of additional products/functionality that will help them grow their use of Primavera applications

 

Required Skills and Experience (Includes type and extent of work experience required, technical skills required, industry experience required)

Essential:

Proven consulting experience

Project delivery, contract and controls experience (cost specialisation) incl. developing work breakdown structures, earned value concepts, forecasting and month end processes

Exposure / understanding of contracts administration processes incl. claims and change management

Knowledge / Experience in the use of Primavera P6, Primavera Unifier and/or Primavera Cloud applications.

Knowledge of Project Delivery and Cost Management Applications

Ability to work autonomously 

Proven workshop facilitation experience

Strong understanding of the nature of projects and construction/engineering/resources industry processes and lifecycle

Very strong organisational and time management skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent presentation skills, ability to influence a group

Problem Solving – Identifies issues and their root causes and implements solutions.

Current driver’s license and car

Must be willing to travel

Desirable:

Understanding of ERP to project delivery and cost control system interfaces.

Strong computer skills, including experience with a variety of software packages including Microsoft Office. 

Software Training experience.

Two (2) + years relevant experience in Project Delivery, Cost Management or Cost Engineering in a construction setting 

Tenacity – Perseveres with issues until solutions are achieved. 

Adaptability - Maintains effectiveness when experiencing changes in work tasks or the work environment.

An experienced consulting professional who has an understanding of solutions, industry best practices, multiple business processes or technology designs within a product/technology family. Operates independently to provide quality work products to an engagement. Performs varied and complex duties and tasks that need independent judgment, in order to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs. Applies Oracle methodology, company procedures, and leading practices.

5-7 years of experience relevant to this position including 2 years consulting experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.
