The Senior Consultant is part of the Health Sciences Consulting team - responsible for implementing Oracle Health Care Software and helping customers realize value from their software investment and deliver improvements in health care to the patients under their care. The Senior Consultant must understand the needs of the Health Care industry while also being able to deply software into the technology environment and integrate with the Oracle Middleware and Database and understand and assist integration with other systems, both on-premise and in the cloud.

Responsibilities:  The responsibilities of this individual include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Work with customers and Oracle consulting leads to understand customer's requirements for healthcare implementation projects.
  • Advise the customer on how best to manage their healthcare date and integrate with other systems.
  • Document customer requirements.
  • Produce high-level and detailed-level design for the customers requirements, including necessary configuration of Oracle healthcare product.
  • Configure the Oracle healthcare software, pre-requisite Oracle middleware and database software.
  • Integrate the software with other systems, such as integration engines and identity management systems; Build data transformation and loading routines using ETL software and custom software; Create java code and pl/sql procedures and packages to aid in the implementation and integration of the healthcare software.

 Requirements and Preferences: 

  • 4+ years of professional experience.
  • BA/BS degree is required.
  • Experience in a software professional services organization or software development role related to healthcare.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Middleware, including WebLogic, SOA Suite or ODI
  • Demonstrated understanding of computer systems and software application implementation (web and/or client server) including knowledge of SDLC (software development life cycle).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills a must.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, yet work independently on complex problems.
  • Logical approach to problem solving and excellent eye for detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and project deliverables.
  • Proven track record of meeting project timeliness/deliverables and attention to detail, process, deadlines and quality results.
  • Demonstrated success with customers during project assessment, planning, development, training and implementation.
  • Self-motivated and keen ability to multi-task.
  • Healthcare industry experience with knowledge of Patient Administration Systems, Laboratory Systems, healthcare integration software, MPI software or data warehousing for healthcare.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry standards such as: FHIR, HL7v2 messages, HL7 v3 and RIM, IHE Profiles and terminology data
  • Familiarity with deploying software systems on to cloud, including configuration of cloud systems.

Intermediate consulting position operating independently with some assistance and guidance to provide quality work products to a project team or customer that comply with Oracle methodologies and practices. Performs standard duties and tasks with some variation to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer specifications.

Standard assignments are accomplished without assistance by exercising independent judgment, within defined policies and processes, to deliver functional and technical solutions on moderately complex customer engagements.

2-5 years of overall experience in relevant functional or technical roles. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.
