Within Oracle Consulting, platform consultants are responsible for the design and implementation of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including compute, network, storage, and Oracle Databases, as well as on-premise Databases. Projects that our platform consultants work on include designing and setting up virtual cloud networks, connections to on-premise Datacenters, migrating virtual machines and Databases, as well as setting up monitoring of the IT landscape and Database tuning.
We are looking for experts on the Oracle Database who are eager to share their knowledge with customers, who are able to leverage the knowledge of all within Oracle to help customers be more successful with their investment in Oracle products.

Your Role
The Cloud Technology Team is responsible for designing, developing and supporting (Oracle) Cloud Technology Solutions leveraging the latest versions of Oracle IaaS and PaaS Services for virtual networks, storage, compute, and Database Services. You will build the platforms that our customers’ mission critical applications run on.
In your role you as Platform consultant you will\:
· Work on-presales engagements, explaining to customers the power and unique features of Oracle Databases, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, with the objective to support the sales teams with selling Oracle Licenses, Cloud subscriptions and Consulting projects. This work also includes proposal development, running proof of concepts, infrastructure sizing, and effort estimating
· Develop tools and methods to deliver consulting services better\: e.g. automation of work, templates, development of tools and standards
· Work on client-billable assignments to design and implement Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle Database solutions. Typical activities include setting up scalable and high available cloud infrastructures, and migrating application landscaped towards the cloud.
Job requirements\:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology or similar field
· Good consulting skills
· Experience in pre-sales engagement, e.g. understanding customers’ requirements and translating those into solutions and services that can be offered and implemented by Oracle
· 7 or more years of experience with Oracle Database, including good understanding of\:
o Clustering, high availability, and disaster recovery
o Management tooling like Oracle Enterprise Manager
o Database Performance tuning
o Database security
o Oracle engineered systems, e.g. Exadata, Oracle Database Appliance, or Private Cloud Appliance
o Oracle Golden Gate
· Good understanding of\:
o virtualization techniques, e.g. OracleVM, Xen, and/or KVM
o networking, including network security
o Storage systems, including NVME, block storage, object storage
o Linux\: Oracle Linux and/or RHEL
· Knowledge of other Oracle products is an advantage, e.g. Big Data, WebLogic
· Experience with public IaaS providers, preferably Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and/or AWS or Azure is an advantage
· Fluent in Italian and English
· Willingness to travel, able to accept assignments abroad

May act as the team lead on projects. Effectively consults with management of customer organizations. Participates in business development activities. Develops and configures detailed solutions for moderately complex projects.
5-7 years of experience relevant to this position including 2 years consulting experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.
