Works in designated Oracle Database area covering all activity across the Russian and CIS marketplace with a focus on Oracle Database promotion.
Role Description
The Product Sales Consultant (PSC) is the focal point in a Sales Consulting group for Oracle Database&Manageability technology. He is responsible for presenting relevant information throughout the business, ensuring that local knowledge is current and easily accessible at all times.
PSC value
By specialising on Oracle Database technology and solutions based on Oracle Database, Product Sales Consultant is the center of expertise for that particular technology. This expertise is passed onto customers enabling them to effectively make use of Oracle Database technologies. He will be involved in sales situations where in-depth expertise is required to articulate complex situations. He will promote Oracle Database&Manageability product line and provide direction in applying the technology to business requirements to ultimately increase the market share of the product line. The PSC provides leadership, guidance and strategy to the Sales and Sales Consulting team.
Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise in a complex or strategic sale situation
- Plan and perform benchmarks
- Design and build ‘Proof of concepts’
- Design, build and script detailed product demonstrations
- Assist/define/approve customers’ technical architecture requirements
- Attend technical customer meetings to advice on architecture, configurations, sizing issues
- Promotion Oracle Cloud solutions
- Assist CPRs to sale DBaaS and Autonomous DBs
External Communications
- Provide customers with the necessary resources to adopt Oracle Database technologies
- Provide strategic technology and market overviews to executive and decision making staff within the customer organisation.
- Deliver technical presentations to the technical / development teams within the customer organisation
- Provide expertise to help formulate a strategy for migration to Oracle Database technologies
- Make the customer aware, and introduce the customer to, the wide range of technologies which will help in this move to new technologies i.e. Oracle Developer Program, Data Migration Services etc.
- Assist in sales and marketing seminars, run in conjunction with the relevant marketing staff.
- Support the answering of RFI’s and RFP’s by providing technological information.
Implement / facilitate a partner education program for non-global ISV’s
To help provide and facilitate a partner education program. This includes\:
- Aiding and possibly defining sales and marketing seminars, run in conjunction with the relevant marketing staff.
- Implement specific partner training days when relevant.
Internal Communications
- Transfer of knowledge of Oracle Database technologies on an ongoing basis, either via the use of ‘one on one’ training, or through the usage of regular group training / update sessions.
- To provide Oracle Database technology support to Account Sales Consultants, Technology Sales Representatives.
Knowledge Management
- Attend new technology training courses, seminars and programs relating to
Oracle Database product line.
- Build and maintain up-to-date knowledge in the specialist technology area (position, present and demonstrate).
- Build and maintain methods and skills
- Build and maintain process knowledge where relevant
- Build and maintain in-depth competitive knowledge
- Build and maintain knowledge of integrating 3rd party solutions
Provide Technical Support for Beta Customers.
- Evaluate customers’ ability to perform beta testing.
- Set customer and product managers expectations.
- Communicate back to development
- Sell the trial to the right customer.
- Manage bug logging and tracking.
- Create and document references of the trial
Job Requirements
Education/Certification
The ideal candidate should have a university degree or equivalent
Experience
The ideal candidate should have a significant amount of experience (minimum 5 years) combining relevant work in information technology (minimum 3 years), technical pre-sales and technical consulting. He/she should demonstrate an effectiveness in enterprise services and client relationship management.
• At least 8 years practical experience designing and building technology solutions.
• At least 5 years practical experience with Oracle Tech products (database and Manageability)
• Strong knowledge distributed among the following domains\:
• Deep knowledge in DBMS product line management & marketing.
• Deep knowledge in Oracle DBMS administration, tuning, support
• Deep knowledge in High Availability System is required
• Technical skills in Oracle Database and it’s options (Real Application Clusters, Partitioning, ADG, Compression, In-Memory, Multitenant, Security) are required
• Knowledge Oracle DBaaS, OCI cloud and autonomous DB
• Practical work with cloud
• Knowledge DB Competitors
• Knowledge in DB&app testing
• Knowledge management and monitoring tools
Experience in Oracle development and systems implementation is preferred.
• Knowledge in Information Security area is preferred
• Experience in Oracle development and systems implementation is preferred
• Oracle certificates, OCP are preferred
• Good understanding for HW and Networking principles.
• IT Architect experience is preferred
• Good presentation skills and writing skills strongly preferred

- Virtualization (Oracle Virtual Machine , VMware , HyperV or Xen)
- System Administration (Windows, Linux & Unix)
- Oracle OEM
- Database and Application Migration Best practices

As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills\: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
