Expert level Sales Consultant responsible for leading and supporting pre-sales activity for Exadata and other Oracle data management solutions. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. This is an individual contributor position reporting to a Sales Consulting Manager.
Qualifications
· Education\: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
· Industry Experience\:
8-12 years pre-sales experience with relevant computer applications or
database/tools.
Minimum 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience.
· Oracle Experience
Minimum 6 years Oracle DB and related technology around security, availability, manageability, performance and scalability experience
· An acknowledged expert in his/her area(s) of focus with ability to demonstrate database features eg. RAC, Partitioning, ASM, Data Guard, Enterprise Manager
· Thorough knowledge of system and application design and deployment architectures.
· In depth knowledge of competitors such as DB2, SQL Server, Teradata, Netezza and hardware vendors like Nutanix, EMC and other converged infrastructure solutions
· Ability to lead deep discovery sessions with customers to uncover pain points
· Demonstrated ability to map customer business challenges to technical solutions
· Demonstrated excellent project management skills.
· Demonstrated ability to solve difficult problems with accounts, in complex technical environments.
· Demonstrated excellent sales and marketing skills.
· Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills\: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Must be able to articulate the business value of the solution, demonstrate TCO savings and handle objections effectively.
· Manage complete technical sales cycles as directed by management.
· A history of proactive communication and sharing among the technical community
· Has strong customer relationships with reference accounts
Technical qualification
- Expert level knowledge of Oracle database technologies like RAC, ASM, Partitioning, Data Guard and database management
- Hands-on experience in the design, installation and implementation of above products
- Advanced level understanding of database performance concepts. Experience in Oracle database tuning will be an advantage.
- Deep understanding of database backup and recovery concepts
- Expertise in designing highly available architectures is necessary
- Deep understanding of transactional systems or data warehousing systems
- Good understanding of the data lifecycle and newer data management paradigms around the BigData ecosystem would be an added advantage
- Good understanding of storage, hardware and networking technologies
- Good understanding of cloud ecosystem – public, private and hybrid deployments

· Demonstrate outstanding Corporate Citizenship by working with Support, Product Management, and other organizations within Oracle.
· Develop and deliver outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations.
· Submit all administrative work in a timely fashion (expense reports, scheduling systems, reports required by management).
· Attend appropriate internal and external training as guided by management.
· Actively participate in career and goal planning with management.

Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills\: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques.
