Container Developer Services

Oracle is focused on delivering developer focused cloud services and enhancing the experience of building and running serverless applications. As a part of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure organization, the serverless group is responsible for delivering services that make developing for cloud easy. We enable developers to focus on the code by handling everything else from reliability, scaling, and robustness while abstracting away all the infrastructure details.

 

The serverless team is looking for seasoned engineering leaders to grow and lead teams that are building and scaling multiple services for the serverless platform. You would be responsible for providing the leadership, vision and strategy needed for the delivery of these services. You would own growing and leading engineering teams, and driving the serverless vison at Oracle and in the wider open source community.

 
We are looking for someone who has experience\:
 
§  Architecting and developing distributed web applications.
§  Working with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. 
§  Owning the end-to-end development, continuous integration, testing, and deployment of services. 
§  Operationally managing web services. 
 
As a part of this team, you will be regularly collaborating with other engineers, architects and project managers across the world. So, great collaboration skills are essential. We're a fairly new team, so there is a great opportunity to make a big impact. We believe this team and mission sits squarely at the center of Oracle's future, and this is an opportunity to rethink the way we develop applications for the cloud.
 
 
Basic Qualifications
§  10 years of experience in software development.
§  Experience in software design and coding in a modern programming language.
§  Experience developing distributed systems and understanding of scale, reliability and performance.
§  Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent. 
 
Preferred Qualifications
§  Experience developing in Go.
§  Significant open source contributions.
§  Experience developing web services.
§  Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
§  Experience mentoring other engineers and working with remote teams.
§  Great communication skills (written and verbal).
§  Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent.

!|!Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
