Principal Technical Program Manager

The Advanced Big Data & Analytics Service team’s charter is to build innovative fully managed, cloud native service focused on serverless compute services, object storage data management, and interactive SQL and OLAP services

 

We’re interested in TPM’s with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in distributed systems and highly available services. At Oracle you can help, shape, design and build innovative new systems from the ground up. These are exciting times in our space - we are growing fast, still at an early stage, and working on ambitious new initiatives.

 

As a seasoned TPM you will always “put the customer first” and have the mentality of “act now and iterate” while building innovative cloud native products.  You will demonstrate strong communication skills to coordinate the across teams that are either operating in silos or don’t have mature processes. Lastly, you will be expected to help mature our existing processes partnering with engineering teams and product teams.

 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in Program Management on technical cross-functional projects.
  • Software development experience for at least 3 years.
  • Experience in managing and executing large-scale, complex technical projects and delivering high quality products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical related field.
  • Experience with big data, SQL databases, object stores, and program evaluations.
  • Ability to be an influential member of a highly integrated team composed of both technical and non-technical members.

Manage the development and implementation process of a specific company product involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products. Plan and direct schedules and monitor budget/spending. Monitor the project from initiation through delivery. Organize the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints. Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Seven years of project management, product design or related experience preferred.
