Oracle is seeking an experienced UX researcher with a strong understanding of qualitative methodologies to join our brand experience team. This individual will partner with UX/UI designers and marketers to design, execute, and synthesize research studies that will inform design and content decisions across Oracle.com. We have studios in the SF Bay Area, Seattle, and Guadalajara, Mexico. What you will do as a Principal UX Researcher at Oracle:

  • Be part of a talented cross-functional UX/UI design team in both Guadalajara and the United States responsible for Oracle.com.
  • Collaborate with design and marketing leaders to uncover generative and evaluative research opportunities that will inform UX improvements to Oracle.com.
  • Design, execute, and synthesize research studies using a range of methodologies, including moderated and unmoderated usability testing, user interviews, tree testing, surveys, and heuristic evaluations.
  • Direct vendors and agencies in research activities, from recruiting participants to conducting complete research projects.
  • Partner with data analysts and use tools like Adobe Analytics to uncover quantitative data that can complement and round out research study insights.
  • Leverage qualitative and quantitative data to communicate actionable insights and UX recommendations.
  • Create a program/system for sharing collections of insights and their impact.
  • Work within a larger brand experience team as a trusted partner and collaborator to educate teams on UX research best practices as well as best ways to leverage many types of user feedback.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8+ years of professional experience in UX research
  • Experience working on large enterprise websites
  • Superior written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Experience in UX design
  • Experience with Adobe Analytics
Responsible for creating, evaluating and modifying prototypes to support evolving hardware and software application development.

As a member of the User Experience team, you will develop and apply software design/usability processes in the investigation of technical problems. May develop user profiles, with emphasis on human error control, display issues, visual interaction, physical manipulation and task and objective analyses. Provide product usability, evaluation and support to product development teams, including the analysis and investigation of applications/systems including tactile methods, visual graphics, web, multimedia, voice response and conversational user interaction. May assist in developing design concept and implementation, providing input on user design considerations. May produce specifications describing user needs and internal structures for product in development.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically seven years of software engineering or related experience needed.
