Position Requirements

Primary Purpose/Objectives

The Senior Product Manager / Product Manager drives delivery in an agile team by representing the customer and facilitating the creation of customer value. They work with the broad Product Team to understand the product vision and commercial goals. They organise the discovery of work for UX and Engineering, and then drive the delivery of the outcomes into Client’s hands.

The Product Manager, broader Product Team and UX work directly with customer to test value, user interface designs and gather feedback from new releases. The product owner is the voice of the customer to the software development team.

Finally, the Product Manager works with marketing, sales, client operations and customer support to represent the product and facilitate go to market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with product manager and the wider team to understand commercial goals and the roadmap that delivers to the goals.
  • Build collaborative relationships with internal and external clients to understand their problems and communicate our solutions.
  • Facilitate collaborative, iterative design of the solutions to client problems with UX and Engineering
  • Develop a prioritized backlog of work with UX and Engineering
  • Drive the agile cadences that deliver the measured outcomes to Clients. (e.g. discovery, backlog grooming, planning, retro, standup, deployment, showcases)
  • Work with the wider sales, marketing, and Client support teams to gather feedback and deliver communication of new product solutions/outcomes.
Leadership
  • Maintain a strong culture and practice within the team
  • Ensure effective integration and co-ordination between the Product, UX, Ops, Sales, Marketing, and Client operations teams
General
  • Understand competitors’ products in terms of positioning, features and benefits, and account acquisition strategies

Candidate Requirements

Required Skills and Experience

Essential\:
  • Considerable experience delivering web applications in the role of product owner/manager.
  • Passion for building the right product and monitoring metrics to ensure impact has been delivered.
  • Comfortable working in an agile technical team that deals with ambiguity every day.
  • Ability to prioritize among competing opportunities, balance consumer needs with business priorities, and articulate the rationale behind decisions.
  • Must be resourceful, self-motivated and able to be successful in a non-traditional entrepreneurial team-based environment
  • Ability to travel globally to meet customers, colleagues and project stakeholders.
  • Great facilitation skills that draw the most out of all participants and converge rapidly on an outcome!
 

Desirable\:

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, written and oral presentation skills, and great interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of the construction sector and /or SAAS business
  • B2B product management experience
  • Experience working on a global project with teams across geographies and time zones
  • Experience in the construction and operations industry would be beneficial

Work as part of a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will define product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
