Brief Posting Description & Requirements
This posting is for an experienced Product Manager who acts as the central resource and driving force for CAGBU Application Cloud Native (CN) transformation vision, requirements definition, test and marketing of products across the portfolio. Previous experience evolving applications toward cloud native architecture with reusable micro service components is needed.
This opportunity requires the successful candidate to:
- Define the common requirements across the portfolio enabling the evolution of products and solutions toward a CN architecture.
- Interact successfully with Product, Technology and Operations staff to execute on the cloud native strategy
- Curiosity to develop a long-term vision for an application chassis that can be adopted and reused across products.
- Validate technical delivery and ensure that delivered functionality complies with the product requirements and is fit-for-purpose.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, identifying market potential, investigating the adaption of new technologies and is both dynamic and flexible.
- Display the ability to respond quickly to changing business needs, priorities, and timelines. Previous experience working on cloud native transformation is important.
- Working closely with product owners of various applications for development and adoption of reusable components.
- Work closely with our Commercial, Sales, R&D & Delivery teams to foster growth and success in the market.
- Be able to articulate CAGBU CN vision and strategy with key customers.
Key activities and responsibilities:
- Create a vision, strategy, and business case for a CN application chassis/stack
- Working closely with product owners of various applications for development and adoption of reusable components.
- Work with the field teams, and customers, to align chassis requirements to their needs.
- Negotiate and communicate CN evolution roadmap additions and their unique differentiators to internal groups and outside partners/customers.
- Create, manage, and present roadmaps.
- Work with product marketing and sales to create product positioning, content, collateral, and tools.
- Create high quality literature and presentations independently to support communication of CN chassis initiatives.
- Present material to external audiences and chair workshops to solicit feedback of the evolution approach.
- Hands on approach to understanding, configuring and testing software.
Skills & Experience:
- A minimum of 6 years in product management or technical roles in Telecommunications domain.
- Previous experience in cloud transformation projects
- Experience in a customer-facing technical role.
- A highly proficient grasp of CN technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Kibana, Prometheus.
- Understanding of deployment environments for CN architectures.
- Previous architecture experience – specifically with telecoms software systems, and ideally with distributed and cloud-native applications at scale.
- Experience in working in projects involving core network integration, Charging, Billing or CRM.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills – must be a good “translator”, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms, and equally represent business needs to technical stakeholders.
- Experience working with remote and highly distributed teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or IT/Telecommunications related.
- A hands-on collaborative style of working.
- Outstanding verbal, written and creative advertising communications skills a must.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.
As a member of the product development division, you will specify, design and implement major changes to existing software architecture. Define project needs. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to ensure consistency, testability and portability across products in general.
Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.
