You will lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product is on schedule and within budget.

 

As a member of the product development division, you will analyze and integrate internal/external customer specifications. Suggest and justify product directions and specifications. Specify, design and implement required changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Provide inputs into the release test plans. Communicate and collaborate with engineering to discuss changes to functionality.

The job needs ability to work globally across multiple time zones in a fast paced dynamic environment. You will have an ability & desire to learn new things quickly and having a strong background in one or more (preferable) operating systems, mobile, security, software assurance, system software.

A strong drive, sense of ownership and ability to work autonomously is required.  You must have experience in a company working in the agile software development lifecycle, with new product development preferred. 
 

Responsibilities 

Do you have a passion for high scale services and working with some of Oracle's most critical customers?  We are looking to hire a Product Manager for the Software Assurance program at Oracle.  The Software Assurance Product manager will be responsible for managing requirements working with our client, architects and technical experts. You will have technical skills to follow conversations around mobile/server software development and/or operating systems code, and their intersection with software assurance needs. 

You are self-motivated, technical-minded individual with a passion for getting things done.  You are ambitious, yet humble – you realize there are always opportunities for improvement, you take on feedback from team members and introspect to raise the bar for yourself.  You are comfortable with ambiguity, exploring new complex codebases and systems, making your team shine.

 

Work You’ll Do

  • Develop and manage product requirements in the mobile development space both Android and iOS platforms.
  • Work with a diversified group of stakeholders and technical leads in managing complex dependencies
  • Provide direction to the team from product management perspective.
  • Be involved in the sprint planning, backlog grooming and provide guidance and structure to the teams task requirements.
  • Be involved in defining key test metrics before and after product releases
  • Be involved in coordinating with the various release processes during product releases
  • Provide weekly reports into leadership
  • Update and set key milestone dates, build a short and long-term roadmap.
  • Consult with the customer(s) and stakeholders on a regular cadence.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in management, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity or related discipline.
  • The ideal candidate will have 8 years of overall experience in the software industry with at least 8 years as a product manager preferably
  • Extensive experience working with mobile Apps on both iOS and Android platform preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia without sponsorship is essential

Nice to Have

  • Experience as product manager in managing requirements for operating systems
  • Experience/background in security space
  • Experience working on complex and multiple releases

Specify, design and implement moderate changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss major changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
